Small QoL buff for Karma's Mantra W

Hey - I like Karma a lot, since way before her latest rework. I was very happy when RiotBaconhawk was nice enough to grab the attention of some other Rioters back in 2014 and push some small QoL changes through that affected Karma and Heimerdinger. You can check the post here if you're interested:

Anyway, I ran into a situation recently where I had used my Mantra W on someone, got the initial heal, but then that champion died. Since the target died, I didn't get the second heal, and I died from ignite or some DoT. I felt . . . cheated, a bit.

So I propose a small change: If the target that Karma uses Mantra W on dies, instantly grant Karma the second half of her heal.

Plenty of champions have abilities that reset on kills or assists, and I feel like this one small change could help Karma players in dangerous and exciting situations, and lead to a few extra "OOOOHHHH SNAP!" moments. Also, according to champion.gg, Karma is sitting at just about 50% winrate and only 2% pick rate, so I think this would have very little effect on her overall power level and it should continue to stay well below 9000.

Edit: Apparently this is already in the game? My b. I wonder if it would be good to clarify it in the ability then (in game).

It already functions like this.

Are you sure you weren't ignited and your healing was simply reduced?

For instance if you have both fizz's DoT AND ignite, the healing would likely be muted. Or Talon's DoT or something.

"If the target of Renewal dies midway through the tether, Karma will instantly receive the second half of the heal." This is already live. It's even in the wiki. Maybe the tehter broke before he died?

The issue I have with W is, that it can break during the casting time (0.5s), doing nothing, but consuming mana, Mantra and going on CD. Either let it have reset its CD (or half of it) or remove/reduce this casting time. Having a bait spell that requires an enemy close range and two buttons doesn't need that long of a casting time.

Hm. Ok my bad. I was not aware that it functioned like this. I must have died from a different damage source in the game I was in.

I guess my question now is if the in-game ability text should be changed to reflect this. From:

"If the tether is not broken after the 2 seconds, Karma is once again healed for 20% (+ 1% per 100 AP) of her missing health and Focused Resolve's Root duration is increased." to "If the tether is not broken after the 2 seconds, or the target dies, Karma is once again healed for 20% (+ 1% per 100 AP) of her missing health and Focused Resolve's Root duration is increased."

Or reword it to make perfect sense, since we don't need to know that the root duration is increased if the target dies anyway.

no i've had this happen, i was at low hp running away and was attempting to heal off a jungle camp. I got the initial heal, however then the small wolf i had the tether on died, and I did not get the second portion.
