I have been keeping this Idea a secret, until now. Malzahar gets counter play tools!
I discussed
counter pressure potential in another thread if I remember correctly. His old voidlings did that pressure. Now it is gone. Then Riot moved some of the power from his voidlings to his Q, E, R spells. Then the proceeded to nerf Q and R so they no longer make up for lost pressure potential to help offset his weakness of being Easy prey to any diver. Without his Q and ult damage and not long ult CD, He lost all of that pressure. Now he is a wounded gazelle of a champion.
So I present to you, Reworked Malzahar.
- Passive, voidshift
Malzahar leaves a trail of void essence on the ground where he walks. Enemies of any type in the trail lose 35% movement speed.
Malzahar still gets his current shield, and does not effect his trail.
- Q, Call of the void:
*silence duration increased to 1.5/1.8/2/2.5/3 seconds.
- W, voidswarm.

Gathering swarm is removed.

Voidswarm now has a charge system of 4/6/8/10/12. 4.5 second charge cooldown at all ranks and is effected by CDR

Voidling attacks now are ranged attacks and have a range of 500

Voidlings move at 300 movement speed

Voidlings last 15/16/17/18/19 seconds.

You can have a maximum number of voidlings = current W charge limit plus 2.

voidling spawn range is now 850 units, and have a 1 second delay before they spawn from portal.
- E malefic blast.

Malzahar lobs a ball of void energy at the target location, which after 1.2 seconds will land at your target location and explodes. Enemies within the blast radius are rooted for 2 seconds, take low damage, and are affected with malefic visions.

voidlings are attracted to enemies with Malefic visions in this order of priority.
Champions, Epic monsters, large monsters, monsters, minnions and pets of anykind.
- Nether grasp.
- scaling increased to 120%
- base damage is now 175/250/325 *CD decreased to 120 seconds.
- Nether grasp beam now takes 1 second to reach it's target. During this time the target may use any CC except, slow, blind, root, on you and interrupt the ultimate. If your ultimate is interrupted this way. It goes on a 16 second cool down, this cool down is unaffected by CDR.
NOTE: A ton of you are going to say this would be unfair because you just hate Malzahar so much and want it to always be Easy to kill him so anyone who tries to play malzahar can feel bad about them selves, get toxic, then get perma banned.
This is not the point of the rework. The whole point of this rework Idea is to return some much needed counter pressure to Malzahars kit so he can actually stop people from diving on him and actually have a chance to react and fight back. He wont have to hug turret whole game because an experienced Malzahar player in this rework would know how to offset his wounded gazelle weakness. (easily dived on with little counter play tools to stop that)
He can run around his opponents and keep them in his trail by placing voidlings in the right spots. If someone were to dive on you, then place malefic blast right over you so they are held in place as soon as they reach you. Use this time to reposition and to make a counter attack with nearby voidlings that you spawned ahead of time anticipating that you would be dived on. The voidlings will start attacking that champion because you put Malefic visions on them. If they try to escape, ult them, they might stun you to stop this, and if this happens try to land a Q to stop them from retaliating and place some more voidlings down around you to make getting close to you more dangerous than rewarding.
I would love mircro stratagy tools like this in Malzahars kit. IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN
