Season 10 Jg is gonna be meh - predection
With the jungle being made easier to kill along with shorter camp re-spawn and krug to gromp balance, as well as rift and dragons being easier, everything is kinda thrown in the air. The question of ganks vs farm is more important. Early game champs vs Late game, assassins vs. bruisers (tanks are kinda useless), CC or Dmg, these are all things that have to be rethought for s10.
However, that is already being done/has already been done. I want to talk about the removal of catch-up EXP. I feel that this really hurts and jgler's ability to come back from a game. If all your laners are ahead and you are constantly taking camps can nobody can stop you, its practically a 5v4. However, being on the other side of that feels absolutely terrible.
A recent game I played (humbly i might add that I wasn't playing great), had a 2/14/2 combined botlane, a 0/3/0 mid who never left his tower and did 3k dmg as range vs. melee, and an enemy garen in top... so i mean theres not really any way to beat garen post 6. The enemy mid was constantly in my top jg, and the enemy hecarim who had 4 kills was happy to take my botside. I couldnt fight because I would be fighting a higher level, higher gold, higher dmg lane. Through the constant flame of teamates telling me to gank, we finally got to the 15 min mark and immediately ff'd. I was farming any camp I could get my hands on. Picking up top waves after our top went afk. The problem was, there was no way at all that I could fight anybody after they got so beefy. Without a team knowledgeable on how to play from 8 kills down at 3 minutes, there was absolutely nothing I could do. The fact that I was playing Olaf surely didnt help, but what Im trying to say is that playing from severly behind in jg is near impossible now, even if you werent the one who did poorly, and even if the enemy jg wasnt playing well.
I feel that early game is now essential but that lanes other than jg. have to understand that and play safer. any thoughts?
