Urf mode should never be released again.

The toxicity is simply higher than ranked and normal.

Pick Mundo -> Accused of trolling and flamed the whole game Pick Jax -> Accused of picking OP champ and flamed the whole game

Seriously, the meta of Urf is MUCH MUCH stronger than ranked and normal.

Riot did a good job in creating such fun mode, but this community is not yet ready for it.

PS. If you want to try so hard, go ranked or even normal. Temporary modes are not for you. I will keep myself away from this mode since I can no longer enjoy it due to the massive toxicity.

If you hate encountering OP champs, go ranked or normal, which is a more balanced place for you.

it's because little 14 year old assfucks think they need to compensate for their douchery by ruining something for everyone and than label themselves as "good" see also; COD Kids

As a 14-year-old who generally acts civilly (as do all my friends) please don't lump me with them. Besides, I know some 20 year olds who are worse than some people my age.

If the adult words are too much for you, you could always turn the chat filter back on.

Good sir, I kindly say to you that you are an asshole, and that people like you are among the worst in my book. Have a nice day.

Well, I am 20 years old and I know to show respect to others I meet online. The response you gave was no way to act but the guy above you is an asshole for how he reacted in the way he did, if anything Idiocy is the cancer of the internet and dumbass people are plentiful here. I don't mean anything offensive in this and I'm sorry if you do find something offensive in what I wrote, but I like to write what's truthful to me.

Shinjusuke13 votes

How about both of you stop pretending that thinly veiled insults and (shitty attempts at) civilized wording doesn't make either of you look like any less of the "assholes" you claim everyone else is.

Also, "I'm not a complete fucking douchewad, i'm just 'truthful'" is literally one of the dumbest, most self-absorbed statements you can possibly make. Probably should avoid using that excuse, seeing as it's literally the exact level of sheer ignorant stupid as the "not to be racist, buuut...." or "don't it personally, buuut...". Seriously. Just stop.

The guy kinda asked for it. He said his piece, called the guy out on it, and left. Hasn't responded. So seems like the right choice to me. Didn't end up as a back and forth at least.

Since you claimed yourself as a civil person, I assume you could just ignore him. Just my opinion. Anivia The argument continued after your reply, if you noticed.

B1naryB0t1 votes

Civility doesn't require you to be silent about your opinions, it just requires that you are civil in the opinions you share. If you don't call people who treat you poorly out, then they'll continue to be horrible people to you.

And while the argument may've continued after the reply, I dropped myself out of it after calling him out, seeing as how after that it's just immature mudslinging.

Calling another person an asshole is not exactly an opinion. Well, I guess cursing is not worth pointing out on the internet anymore. While what he did wasn't appropriate, returning a worse attitude didn't really solve anything at all, except venting your anger.

After all, you described my comment as "immature mudslinging". You should understand wording does matter. Opposing others' opinions doesn't require you to be offensive. If you truly believe your comments were civil, I guess we have different definitions on the word. Cheer out.

B1naryB0t1 votes

Serious note, not gonna prolong some argument about yours and my difference of opinion, but I don't want you to misunderstand me, I called the argument after my comment immature mudslinging. It's like what would happen if we were to continue this discussion through insults and such.

Also, do remember that, while I remain civil for the most part, I will deviate as I see fit. After all, nobody in human history has ever been perfect and follow their views 100%

I just thought if you want to be civil, at least make it consistent. If you deviate, don't sugar coat it as an civil opinion. Being said that, I would do much more and harsh than you to him. ;)

Sorry, i said "14 year old assfucks", but i don't think you and your friends fall into that category it seems.

It's fine, I know more people who fit into that category than I'd care to admit, I just get angry when people use that generalization for everyone.

I treat people's behavior too seriously. Muting is an option. I would if I ever feel like playing it again, which is unlikely.

I've found that the later you play, the less (less is the keyword here) flame-y I assume it's because the brats start to go to bed plus the drunk and/or high crowd who don't care at all start to get on

ImABowlOfSalad1 votes

This. I don't get out of work until 10 so I don't get on until after midnight most of the time and I almost ALWAYS find chill people to play with. However if I get the day off or play on the weekends and go on at 3pm right when school gets out and I find myself stoned inside with the lights off on a beautiful day screaming at little kids via gamechat. God I need to get outside more ಥ_ಥ

Reikken5 votes

shrug I've never been accused of trolling OR picking OPs. What kind of losers do you play with? I almost never encounter any real negativity.

Sinister Snail3 votes

URF is really fun, if you mute everybody immediately.

I can't say everyone in the community is toxic, but the ones that are make it really bad. People need to report more often to make it clear this kind of shit isn't ok.

Buttigieg 20202 votes

Just pick them anyways. Show them that your champ is good.

AbsoluteSadman2 votes

Dont release urf until you can add to it with new ideas or fancy things, dont give us the same garbage, add things, not just nerf.

Freljordan1 votes

The community kind of harrassed rito endlessly for a whole year to bring back urf. If they had changed things in it there would also be people who would rage about how Rito should have just left it. Kind of a lose lose situation there

ModCaptainMårvelous2 votes

Urf needs to be random, otherwise it's just going to see this same tired meta over and over.

Rainbowgasm2 votes

Can't say the community didn't ask for it.

what if next time we had "urf coins" so that the most frequently picked champs would cost "urf coins" that can only be earned by picking the champs that aren't in demand? Like a stock market of champions.

The Blue Rooster2 votes

So... What you're saying is exactly what everyone who said they shouldn't bring it back said would happen... Happened.

This shit was starting to happen last year. The meta had already developed, featured game modes are temporary for a reason.

ChaosThief2 votes

I hate all the tryhard mundos who build full tank and are basically invincible. Also, if sona is not banned, HEY LET'S HAVE SONA ON BOTH TEAMS. FUN RIGHT?

Just... ugh. Can we not pick the OP just because it wins games EVERY time? Please?

Yoella2 votes

I've actually had the opposite experience. I've hardly experienced any toxicity in Urf, and the only toxicity I've seen is when someone is genuinely trolling, like a Bard that just places and rides portals all game long, or someone who deliberately walks into the enemy turret 3 times in a row. I guess I've seen people get mad when someone makes absolutely terrible bans and that comes back to bite us in the ass later (Like when we end up facing AD Malz, Sona, Zed, Blitz, and Ezrael).

Generally it's MUCH lower than the toxicity in normals or ranked, though.

OP, I'm not saying it's your fault, but I know from experience that if you get raged at it will affect your mood and how you play. Take a break, watch a show, and then come back to URF with a carefree attitude. It's all in how you view and react to things.

l AM SCRIPTING2 votes

So because the community is bad... a mode should be deleted permanently? By that logic league of legends itself shouldn't even exist lmao

Arch Mage Magnus2 votes

I've played countless games in Urf mode, with not a single word spoken from either team aside from GG at the end. For me, Urf mode is the healthiest mode I have ever seen in League. I don't even know how I am going to go back to playing normal league anymore.

Drackolus1 votes

Nobody's been toxic towards me for playing Soraka. But then again...

Raid Boss Morde2 votes

Freljordan1 votes

soraka is super good at urf, silence pool not affected by tenacity op

deadlychuck1 votes

It's also because people can't figure out how to have fun unless they are completely destroying the enemy with the most powerful of powerful champions, and if you aren't helping them dominate then you're preventing their enjoyment. -__- it's sad that the game will always come to this given any FGM. It's just the nature of a competitive game i suppose.

AFK Push1 votes

Yeah, I had a game where everyone but me was flaming an AP Gangplank in URF. It was one of the only times that I have said, "It's just a game." I mean it's urf guys...

Sigh. I remember when it first came out. Soooo much fun. But like every other fun game mode, this community killed it.

I've never been flamed once where is this even coming from. I've never seen anyone else get flamed either, besides when they play OP fucking jax and shaco I mean fuck those guys, but it's nothing personal.

I'm going to make a really good bet you're fairly toxic yourself.

DrProfVibeCheck1 votes

{quoted} Riot did a good job in creating such fun mode, but this community is not yet ready for it.

When is the league community ready for anything?

  • New season 5 jungle comes out, "OMFG ITS TOO HARD"
  • Cinderhulk comes out, "OMFG ITS TOO OP" Now there's URF... Point is, there will always be complainers, but that shouldn't stop the fun. You said it yourself that URF is a fun game mode. Just press the mute button and the toxicicity will go away.
Vicarious1171 votes

Yeah I remember last year you could pick ANYTHING you wanted and people never cared, you could go 1/10/2 as something not so great against a stupidly OP urf champ and people would simply laugh it off with you, CAUSE IT WAS FUNNY! IT'S URF!!!

But now.... you get flamed for picking something strange right off the bat, and if it doesn't perform well you get harassed into oblivion by some of the most childish people I've run into on this game to date.

And if you do pick an OP champ just to avoid your team abusing the f*ck out of you then you'll have to deal with the massive amounts of salt that'll be thrown your way by the opposing team! There is no way out of being verbally abused in URF atm!

Also the best is when someone gets stomped by a really stupid urf champ and then they rage at you for not banning that champ.... cause it's not like there are already way too many champs everyone wants to ban to begin with, like faaaaaaaar more then 6 champs need banning, but if someone gets stomped by say a Galio cause you banned Nidalee, Alistair, and Sona instead they won't care that you banned 3 other ridiculous champs, you didn't ban the one that f*cked them up so it's not them being bad or Galio being stupid OP in urf, it's YOUR fault for being "too dumb to ban him."

Ugh... I was so excited for urf to come back this year..... but now I can't even bring myself to play it anymore, the childish harassment is simply too much.....
