Is Cull worth it?

Looking at the item itself, having +7 attack damage and +3 life on hit seems okay. But if you're looking at getting cull for an item, you really need to ask yourself if it's worth it.

Cull Cost: 450

1 gold per minion (100 max) - 100 gold gained Bonus after 100 minions killed: 350 You gain 450 gold from the passive. Selling the item: 180 gold You only gain 180 extra gold from this item once you use up the passive and sell it, that's 2 potions and 1 pink ward, or a combination of different cheap items. Ask your self before you make this purchase if it's really worth it, it may seem like it but the only GAIN is 180 Gold.

Yet it gives stats and doesn't need to be sold right away, it is technically efficient hence why higher elo/masters/challengers buy it on adc sometimes. Not first item usually. (I'm no ADC main but it seems efficient to me, what other item that you buy gives you free stats for farming? I mean the 100 gold bonus and the 350 after makes the cost of the item so you have free stats and then selling it NETS you money)

It really depends on your lane matchup. If I can get away with farming a little longer than normal, and I back before I have the money for my first major component, or more than enough money for it, I will pick up cull. Cull by itself is not better than Doran start right now (Doran's health stat is the reason why), but Doran's then Cull is pretty good and will net you bonus lane gold against a weak lane early.

basically, you sell it so you can get your 6th item sooner, or whenever you base and it could be traded for another item, like that 450g, you could have a long sword, but if you sell the item you could have an agility cloak. (assuming you back with a little bit of gold on you)

overall if you get your farm, its not a bad buy, and its better than going back not buying anything at all. the bonus gold can be used to get something ahead of schedule.

the gain isn't 180 gold, the gain is 180 gold AND the difference between buying and selling a doran's.
