I can see why so many people are quitting league.

Aeró··51 votes·3,371 views

Not that riot would care about 10 or 20 people leaving since the game is so big, but a lot of people are quitting and I don't blame them one bit. Probably going to quit myself. The game isn't fun anymore. I try to have fun but it doesn't seem like they listen to the players one bit. Since the end of season 5, I have had a yasuo or a tryndamere every game. The masteries and items were made for the op to be even more op. They heal every hit and get the attack speed bonus every hit. Why? What was going through their head when they came up with these changes? - "Hey look, ADC's are in a fine place so lets make em super op. Lets focus the whole game around ADCs so that they can feel even more empowered. But lets make it so these op champs can stay op and lets not even care about mages anymore." SEASON 3 AND UNDER BEST TIMES TO PLAY LEAGUE. Season 4 had nice changes. But season 5 and onwards were just stupid. This is just MY OPINION so don't take it to heart and I welcome any discussion.

I don't like how they handled the Harrowing and . . . then picked the stupidest theme for it. I am leaving only until they fix the mess and give a little more attention to AP champions. I feel that AP champions were given nothing. I don't even see staff of water on live . . . and I thought it was coming in the recent update. Yasuo, Tryn and Graves are ridiculous.

Aeró2 votes

i really hope that in upcoming patches, mages will get some love. the items and masteries are really centered around ad champions atm. even the masteries that are for "ap" are ad masteries that have ap mixed in too.

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

and masteries are centered around crit, ap supports and tanks, normal ad were shot under the rug

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

Did you not realize ap champs were buffed like hell when the masteries came?

Aaaand, again, Tahm still needs nerfs regardless? Kappa

Crett24 votes

Tahm's not a tank, he's something else entirely. Something... wrong

Penns2 votes

Nah, Tahm is basically the definition of what a tank should be like (excluding his supporty W maybe) lol. Pretty tanky with high damage, but totally unmobile so he probably wont be able to even hit you.

Crett8 votes

He's not a champ I overly dislike, but I generally don't like seeing tanks dealing so much damage actively. That's not to say I don't think tanks should be able to deal damage. For a long time I've strongly believed an optimal tank should do the most damage when they're taking hits It's the best way to keep the tank from doing things like diving the backline and assassinating squishies while keeping their durability and damage fair

Not that there shouldn't be exceptions to the rule, but Tahm has some pretty toxic gameplay sometimes I don't think he's too strong though

Penns3 votes

I think Tahm is pretty comparable to Fizz. They both can do pretty good damage and have 1 ability that annoys many people, so they "need nerfs". The thing is, Tahm CAN do a lot of dmg but actually both Nautilus and Bard support have more average dmg dealt than Tahm. That kind of doesnt work with the "Tahm easily 100-0s everything" argument..

Aeró4 votes

tahm is a weird one. i just think his base damage is too high. he spits things at me late game and it makes me have to go right back to base. think he is defintly worthy of some nerfs. he has too much in his kit, stuns, watever u call him eating u, shields, epic saves, map pressure, tankiness.

Penns2 votes

Well his W projectile base damage is only 300 at max rank, so even at level 16 with ~4000 HP, its not even gonna do 350 dmg against 40 MR. But if he uses his W to poke and the enemy team forces an engage right after, he is virtually useless.

Aeró2 votes

i guess. could they just make it so that his stacks go away after he stuns u, its not much, but it makes it so that he cant stun u and eat u right after.

Troll for Trump2 votes

I kinda feel Tahm is the line between Juggernaut and Tank. It's a more "tanky" juggernaut. The new kraken champ is what a juggernaut SHOULD be. TK trades mobility and strong gapclosers for dmg... but he has a ton of cc which semi mitigates it. Nerf his Q slow and passive direction and the rest is fine.. sort of.

Specter0271 votes

I haven't had problems, then I played a mid mage with a Tahm on enemy team. When he gets Dead Man's Plate + Swift Boots you can't stay away from him.

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

I really don't understand this, cause all the tanks I've been seeing have been really resiliant, the fact that ADC's can't just build Last Whisper and then nullify so much of your durability is making it so they're really hard to take down.

Crett3 votes

47% of bonus armor + 15% extra damage has been really noticeable for me so far I buy FH and the thing only gives me 47 armor against them

Both Raummus and Malph sitting with above 50% win rates right now

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

So malphite, rammus, sejuani, maokai, tahm, amumu, alistar, galio, leona, naut and shen dont feel good to you even though they're all tankier than before with new masteries. ok.....

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

Yep tanks are tankier mages doing more damage I really didn't think I would gloat but yea how you felt was just a kneejerk reaction and was completely wrong.

BluePolarizer12 votes

season 5 was fine for the most part. It was the juggernaut crap that got kinda bad but this preseason was just... beyond...

Rendarkan3 votes

Yeah but %hp hitters like Vayne and Tankbusters were the go to solution for that. Now though tanks are no more than a mild speed bump to steamroll over.

MrWasjig2 votes

+1'd for this. Season 5 felt pretty good in the grand scheme of things. Shame the Jugger%%%%s happened.

How about give ballance some time. This is their biggest patch ever. How can you expect that this would be ballanced:

  • The crit mastery what made yasuo & tryn so broken get it hotfixed this week, this will also effect the sustain of a lot of marksman arround the midgame
  • Mages where extreemly strong for a fell seasons. Their damage ramped up to quickly while still providing a lot of utility. You still need mages in the game. The only thing that will change is a big meta shift. Now the game will be involved arround waveclear mages again like Ziggs & Xerath. They actualy buffing the keystone masteries for mages next patch.
  • The reason why marksman are so strong right now is because their counterparts assassins are currently in the worsed state. Assassin need an markman size of rework to make them work in this game again. This isn't a problem that will be solved in a day. I honnestly wouldn't be supprised they wait till next season to fix this. One thing you must not forget and that are tanks/juggernauts. Last Whisper now only penetrates bonus armor. This means tanks with high base armor are uneffected by this. Try Tahm, Nautilus or Mundo. Their pretty strong against them.
Aeró1 votes

i think one thing they could really do to make it fair is give the mastery a cooldown. like once ever 10 sec. and I would really like to see some new things for mages. il wait and see what comes. thnx for the info

DorkunedAuras2 votes

the mastery does, it's 2 seconds. It's stupid, but at least they can't heal every hit if they cap crit chance (which yasuo is incapable of not doing).

The problem is in the question. This patch should never be released all at once. It should have been in gradual implementation.

Honestly, releasing them all at once is a good idea. You don't see tiny problems as much, however the much larger blaring issues are fixed sooner. But the tiny problems are just that. Tiny.

the exact opposite of what every high school science class teaches, and what I am told as a college instructor to specifically discourage students from doing.

I won a game last night... but it wasn't very fun, we just crushed them mercilessly... then I play a game this morning and they invaded and killed me in my jungle and we got stomped with no chance to come back. I hate this. I like playing champs with a really solid late-game (IE Shyvana mainly), however those champs might as well not exist, the game is over before 30 minutes and the late game doesn't exist.

The game is not fun anymore, its either stomp or get stomped. Close games no longer exist.

DrNova1 votes

There are like 120 champs or something like that. Surely you can find a few champs who fit in this current (pre)meta.

If not that's your own fault for not being adaptable and having such a shallow roster.

Eh for me the tank meta in Season 5 felt pretty balanced to me this season

why does no one remember Release LeBlanc? She had to get hotfix nerfed 2 HOURS AFTER RELEASE because she could 100-0 anyone with QW at lvl 2.

Remember the Nasus ultimate bug? 1-1 ap ration. That shit got fixed quick.

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

Or the infini-flash bug that resulted from a mastery exploit allowing flash to have no cooldown? Accounts got perma-banned for that one; yet years later riot makes; ekko, fizz, kalista, kindred, and yasou; some of the most frustratingly mobile champions in the game.

Release Jinx was pretty bad, too. Zap! had high dmg with a heavy slow to boot. Made her nigh impossible to run away from.

i have like no urge to play this game for past few months, just to get gold, then stop playing

ZT Xperimentor2 votes

I concur entirely it's been going downhill since season 3; seen them become obsessed with the 'pros' and reworking champions that just needed some quality of life bug-fixes. As well as the repeated turret nerfs and so on; it's not remotely fun anymore.

Here you go:

Regarding towers: "My bad, just spoke with the folks working on the tower changes and there was a reduction to tower health in there I wasn't aware of. We'll be looking at that this week and early next week, assess whether or not it's doing good things and whether we need to make follow up changes."

Regarding crits and working on solutions: "Preseason's the time where we can make bigger, long term improvements, even if that means some disruption in the short term though. Demonstrating what the effects of healing via crits are for example, to set up work for the coming year, is more important than a handful of champions being suddenly too strong or weak for a patch."

Regarding Yas&Tryn (really popular complaints): "Trynd and Yasuo were both identified as characters that would likely be too strong, by how much and in what ways we should react wasn't sufficiently clear pre patch to justify changes to them in advance however."

And then a whole paragraph about the minion updates and how they will influence snowballing, talk about Soraka and other champions that are likely OP etc.

Riot does listen, people just don't want to actually look for it.

Season 2 and prior was the best and this is someone who on a winning streak with Tryndamere. The tank meta and the original jungle was the best time to be playing league in my opinion. Season 3 was when league went downhill in my opinion. But also remember this is pre-season so come back to it when it fully season 6. I bet a lot will change by then.

YEEEEET4201 votes

I, as supporter main, before I quit, I had couple of games as thresh, and whenever I hooked the ADC, there was more of chance that I will die or get so much dmg after. And they made bot lane feels like it is just 1vs1 lane, supports are like super minions with abilities... I remember when bot lane was all about team work between ADC and Supporter and now, there is not much of team works required with supporter because ADCs can 1vs1 lanes without supporters.

DrNova1 votes

Simply false, and enemy ADC has a support as well.

DrNova1 votes

Lol I love when people make up "facts" in a thread.

Where is your basis for assuming there are any significant number of people quitting? Link to your source?

If you mean the occasional QQ thread by bad/unintelligent players over stupid things (most who don't actually quit if you check their stats later) then your whole argument fell apart.

A lot of your reasons are all just opinion anyways. I personally have had not one tryn, and I cqmt recall having a yas either.

I haven't noticed ADCs to be that overshadowing compared to anyone else. I main mages and find them to still be plenty effective.

Above all its preseason still.

If you aren't having fun you either have unrealistic expectations, are too rigid to adapt to change, or simply on tilt/burnt out and need a break.

If so that's fine but making a thread with opinions and false points is just kind of immature in my opinion. Go away for a bit and recharge, play another game, or something.
