Snakes don't wear boots? What about tentacle monsters?

lokipaws··15 votes·2,184 views

since the mage update and the change to most the champions where pretty nice. except one that really makes little or no since to me. snakes cant wear boots on Cassiopeia while on the other hand other champs like Skarner Rumble Xerath Velkoz Urgot RekSai Nocturne Nami Lissandra Hecarim Corki either don't have feet couldn't possibly wear shoe's can still buy and wear shoe's.

why should Velkoz a tentacle void monster be able to wear shoe's if Cassiopeia cant? and what about a fish Nami what she going to do wear them on her hands?

the more i think about it the more it feels like an unjustified handy cap placed on Cassiopeia so the other champions can point and laugh at her. i really think the "snakes cant wear boots " should be more of if " You don't have human feet you cant wear boots"

i think i feel that would be a more interesting way of handling it instead of what feels like another way to discourage a champion thought Demacia's political bullying tactics.

[ repost since the other disappeared on me ]

Nani wears them on her head. Used to be searching hat in shop would make boots of speed appear when playing her.

Velkoz : i find the term "tentacle monster" offensive, ill have you know I am a caring tentacle being who spends weekends from the rift looking after stray dogs. Jesus the nerve of some carbon based life forms. BLASTS CUP OF TEA WITH DISINTEGRATION RAY humf.

I guess from a gameplay standpoint there was too much going on with her abilities that she needed a simple passive.

From a lore standpoint, it's part of her tragedy. She can't integrate herself into society anymore, but she has gained newfound powers (extra ms in-game) that she can use to her advantage. It should be highlighted more with her than other champs...except maybe Nami.

She is unable to buy boots so she can spend all her 6 items slots on AP items, and doesn't have to spend 1000 gold on boots, she can pump that gold into getting a Needlesly large rod just a bit quicker. IMO it's absolutely genius.

however, now things like sorcerer's boots, and swifties (not so much) are unavailable.

now granted, now she can get abyssal and an extra ap item. but you lose MS

It makes about as much sense as Lucian or Jinx (and others) buying "swords" as weapons. They don't equip them and they don't use them, they just get the stats/on-hit effects for having them in their inventory. Boots should be no different. You shouldn't have to "wear" boots to get the stats, as you don't need to swing the sword or use the gun or wear 5 pieces of chest armor on top of each other (come on now...) to gain the effects. Trying to insert "it's unrealistic for Cassiopeia to have boots" because she has no feet is about as silly as Lucian using 5 swords when he only uses 2 guns (and has 2 hands...), or Garen wearing 5 breastplates when he only has one torso last I checked.
