Ludens Echo Creating a New Wave of Play

As i am somewhat aware of the layers of complexity concerning the balance and structure of each individual champion, I would like to conceptualize an idea that may not be possible or even plausible now but might create a wider diversity in play. I understand that there may be many ongoing issues and there is a depth of complexity being analyzed every day with game play and balance. So this is only to share an idea for future analyses and may not even be what you or anyone else is aiming for.

item 3285 Ludens Echo is, I believe, a very well thought out item, but I believe an extra layer of depth could be added to this item to increase and improve different game play options. instead of having the items passive cast on the next spell or hit, you could allow the player to choose which spell the the items passive will cast on. For instance, if someone were playing Anivia Anivia and they didn't want the passive to cast on her ultimate, you could instead allow the player to choose which ability the passive will cast on (preferably her "e"). furthermore, items could be made based on the idea of allowing a player to choose which abilities they want to buff or not. This concept could potentially allow for a greater diversity of play. One downside to this idea is that an item like this can be extraordinarily complex, and could break the game altogether. It could do this by limiting the construction of a new champions abilities, in that you wouldn't want an item to make a champions ability "broken". This could also cause less emphasis on the creation of new champions and would create a mindset on building a champion around preexisting items. So to remedy this, I considered the possibility of making champion exclusive items, but of course this is time consuming and there are champions who already have exclusive items. Making every champion have an exclusive item would make champions like Rengar Rengar and Viktor Viktor less set apart from other champions. On a brighter side it could add to the already existing lore surrounding each character, and could create a wider interest and depth on the lore of Runeterra.

As Ive said before these ideas are probably not the direction anyone is looking for and perhaps the idea for such items have or have been thought up already. But because i love the complexity and hard work that goes into making this game possible, I thought I should share my thoughts to give imput, even if these concepts are controversial to leagues development at this stage. It might be that this approach to game development is time consuming, and costly, but this was meant to start off an idea, not finish one. This was only meant to provoke new ideas for debate. Although this concept could be controversial, I believe it could definitely lead to something even more interesting for development and can potentially add an extra level of depth and diversity.
