Show champions without chest in ranked

If I feel like trying to earn a box and I can not remember entirely which ones I do not have boxes on, I am just going to pick one I know for sure I do not have a box on.

This might not be the best pick because I might not be sure whether or not I had a chest already on a different pick, so I am not going to risk picking it in case I have a chest on it already.

And if it all comes down to it? I can just screenshot my collection before games.

This decision only feels like it was made to appease reddit or something

Basically riot and the community does not want someone playing a champion in ranked that they likely do not normally play and are likely unfamiliar with in ranked just to try and earn a chest. The overall thought it that you should play a champion you're good at and are familiar with in ranked so you have a better chance of winning. Earning chests while a possibility in any of the regular pvp modes including ranked is best left to normal games where you can view your chest status while in lobby as normals are viewed as more casual and in theory more forgiving of a place for playing a champion you normally don't to try and get a chest. Not everyone agrees with this, but that seems to be the general consensus.
