Malz Ult Question
I'm curious what you can/can't cast while being ulted by a Malzahar.
I mainly ask this question because I was wondering if I could exhaust him while being suppressed by his ult.

You can't exhaust, but you can QSS and I believe you can trynd ult
His ult is a suppression. Besides what he said it suppresses everything
ultimate (Nether Grasp) is a suppression.
Suppression
- The target is unable to control movement, attack, cast abilities or use summoner spells.
- Will interrupt channeled abilities.
- The duration is not affected by crowd control reduction.
- The effect can be removed only by using
or

is not an option since Suppression prevents summoner spell use).
- Champions with Suppression:

- No special visual effect.
Since it doesn't let you use summoner spells as part of its effect you would not be able to use 
on him. You would have to do it right before he casts it on you. Hope this helps.

GP orange, Trynd ult, and Olaf/Alistar ults can be cast during it
And removing it only removes the tether, the damage is still applied as long as you stay in range
