Hextech Keys Drop Chance? Or just Unlucky...

Ok so after ghosting the Boards for a while. I didn't see anything that gives any actual evidence for Key Frag Drops. I have gotten 3 key fragments since the Crafting went Live. In the beginning, I assumed that I would get keys frags per grade of A+ or higher. However after multiple games, I have only gotten 3 key fragments, while my friends that have played with me have gotten and kept getting fragments. It was stated that that being on a pre-made allows one to have a HIGHER chance to to obtain the fragments, but for the past few days I have not gotten a single fragment EVEN with a grade of A+ or higher WITH my pre-made team.

Even after reading THIS, I understand the more keys I earn the LOWER my chance is to get the next key fragment but, personally, I have gained in total of 3 key fragments since Live while all my other friends on league have obtained at least 6-8 key?(NOT including ones bought)

Yes we have been playing many PRE-made games in order to get more key fragments to unlock chests. Is there a bug? Or am I just REALLY unlucky even with the chance up from the pre-made system from getting Key Frags?

Grade has nothing to do with key fragments, only wins and pre-mades (and how many you got, as you said).

You're just unlucky, it seems. :\

Pre-mades don't increase drop rate of keys.

Yes, they do. Check your facts before downvoting.

To unlock your chests, you have a chance to randomly pick up a key each time you win any matchmade game and winning with friends results in finding more keys than going solo.

Key drop rates are NOT linear and only wins have a chance of dropping a key. So you will earn key fragments much faster in your earlier wins than you will in your later wins. Or said another way, each incremental key fragment drop is harder than the last (on average... there is variance). This resets on a monthly basis for each player individually. The goal is to create a nice ebb and flow.

Grade does NOT impact key drop chance.

Premades DO increase drop chance.

Chests earned has no impact on key drop chance.

There is variance and randomness (with limits). It's unlikely that what happened to your friend will happen to you.

Mind you this is a system that gives you content that was previously only available with money. It's a system that is designed to reward players for A) playing well or assisting a friend in doing well; and B) playing a lot/winning a lot. It's a system designed for the long run. So just because you haven't gotten much right now and your friends have doesn't mean you are unlucky - it might mean they are lucky and you aren't. Most league players have hundreds if not thousands of wins - which means the key drops will add up over time. It's the same concept as saving up for a specific champion. If you check your IP every time you finish a match - it will seem like it takes a long time to get that champion. If you just play to have fun and check every now and again it will pass by much faster.

Its been like 70 games for me with premades or solo, and still no key fragments

I feel like I'm the same way. I'm wining games and I maybe get one per every 15 games, so like 7 wins, and even that is being generous. The system seems like a nice concept but the fact that you can buy everything just kinda seems like another way for riot to make make more money.

Well I mean.. They are a company that runs a free to play game. the only way they make money is if people BUY riot points. So naturally the numbers will be in their favor. It's like a casino. Entice the people with some wins on the front end, then people will get into it and end up spending more than anticipated.

I am having the same problem, all my friends are getting key fragments every 2 or 3 games they win. In the beginning it was the same for me, i got 6 fragments in about 15 games (10 games won), but now i have won over 12 games last few days and I haven't gotten a single one. I understand there is some randomness involved in this, but how likely am I to be that unlucky. It would explain a lot if it is harder to get more fragments if you already have gotten some, but this just doesn't seem balanced. It went from 1 fragment every 4 games you play to just no fragments at all. Can anyone explain if there is a maximum amount of fragments you can get every week/month or if there is anouther explanation for this?

dude i feel ya i got alot of keys in the start when hextech crafting went live but after some time it just stopped dropping and i had 4-5 weeks without 1 single key frag drop it was insane

i got 13 chests now and no key frags. im also playing with 3 other friends and we win more than lose
