All of my wat.

Them: "Archers are slow and squishy, they are support. They don't have abilities that dash into fights. They don't start them."

Oh, so I guess we should ignore Lucien, Ezreal, Graves, and every other ADC who has a movement ability then? This person made my brain hurt. Sure, an ADC could probably play a support role but it won't be very efficient if they don't have the utility to back up their lack of farm.

From a perspective of war, this is not an inaccurate view of the traditional longbowman. They're supposed to stay far in the back.

However, League is not about war in that fashion, but on characters. For characters-- even ones that want to stay away from opponents, like a traditional archer-- they must be able to move, they must be able to evade. This style of archery, a more nomadic and hunter style, where you keep moving instead of taking perfect or long shots, is more accurate to League of Legends' marksmen.

However, League of Legends has gun wielders, so :/

Nah, he was literally yelling at me because I was getting more kills than him. Considering he missed 80% of his skills and I did more damage than he did, I'd say I earned those kills.

I mean, I don't care if I get kills or not as long as we're working together to get someone, but don't get mad cause you can't finish them off first.

Anyways if he calls ADCs as "archers" then don't expect anything from him.. Maybe instead help him how to move & use abilities.

I can "kinda" see what they intend here, but that's not what support here means. Yes, they're the backline damage and aren't supposed to initiate fights on their own (especially if they cannot win). He definitely did not have a clue about the whole dashing thing, his argument would have been stronger if he had said that they don't have abilities to strongly initiate fights or something.

But in reality, if you ask me, technically everyone supports in a team by providing one aspect they're strong in, and the others cover their weakness. The tank supports by soaking damage/applying cc or dps, the mage/assassin eliminates and nukes the adc/apc if possible, the adc supplies constant dps and eliminates the enemy frontline, the support protects the adc and the rest of the team if possible, and the fifth member provides whatever role is necessary.

Every part of the team is necessary, and by that I view everyone as "supporting" each other rather than outright "carrying."

Though your friend is pretty much wrong. He might have something to argue about, but he needs to strengthen his argument and do his research before making another case if he wants to be taken seriously.
