Is it just me or does Riven fall off hard late game

How could Riven possibly fall off? She's the best champion in the game and is undefeatable!!!

riven is garbage at all stages of the game. just in general fucking terrible.

But yeah shes supposed to since its harder to reach the backline/fight through itemized tanks as a pure damage only champ

Playing against Riven I feel the same, but I feel like she's sufficiently strong early to make up for it.

I go in to every Riven matchup determined not to die in lane. I always die in lane. I just never feed (I give up 1, maybe 2 or at most 3 kills during laning phase). Eventually I scale up and offer much more to my team as a 0/3/1 with 250CS Gnar or J4 with teleport than the 3/1/0 with 200CS Riven with ignite does.

She's still useful late game to an extent, but not nearly as much as most tanky top laners are. If you want to play a carry top laner like RIven (or Fiora, Aatrox, Tryndamere, Darius, etc...) you need to get an early snowball going. It makes sense that these champions would be weak otherwise, because it's relatively easy to get early kills with them and they can get really strong really quickly if they start to snowball.
