1,000 games in silver is common

Hey guys. So awhile back I was worried my effort toward the game wasn't really going anywhere, being almost at 1,000 ranked games without gold. But recently, I started checking lolnexus before a game, and I got to see people with more games than me still in silver. Some almost at the 1.500 ranked games mark. I double checked on lolking to be sure, and the same results showed. This gave me a lot of relief and I wanted to share it with the boards; that if you're frustrated in silver, it's not unnatural to be where you are. It's kind of a double edged sword as to show how long you can be stuck, but remember you can pretty much spike on a win streak at any time. Focus on improving and you'll probably get that spike sooner.

There are still things I don't know, like how people are getting to diamond in 23 games or other smurf-like feats, but I feel I can at least say the amount of games you have in silver happens to other people too, so you're not alone in your situation if you're stuck.

Anyway, I hope your guys' games go well (unless you're fighting me I wanna win sorry c:)

Good luck in ranked c:

1,000 games in Silver is just really sad honestly and if you believe it's common & natural to be at this elo in said amount of games, you're beyond delusional.

Sure, you can go ahead and be an optimist and go with your way of thinking, but it's solely based on your perception of such stats but I am telling you right now, you should be at least high Platinum by now with this many games. You have 618 games with a single champion; Elise. It is the champion that you know most and still then you're stuck in this elo. On top of that, you were Silver last season and you still are to this very day so definitely you're doing something wrong, it's time for a change my man. You were given a full year to improve and get a higher elo and you still haven't, while mostly playing 1 champion that doesn't require much of a brain to do work with.

That's the harsh side of your idealism, your fantasy. The more you tell yourself that it's normal to be where you are right now with such stats, the more likely you will stay down there. Stop telling yourself lies and it's start to apply changes in your mindset, champion pool and gameplay. Don't start being negative on your teammates though, you have the right mindset for playing a teamwork-oriented game but your way of thinking for your position in this game is awfully wrong and based off of others' stats.

That's pretty much it, wasn't looking to hurt you in any way and if it has, I apologize in advance. Good luck man, I have faith you'll make it to at least Gold before season ends (mid-November).

You are half right, as well as half being an ass. Silver elo exists because there are people who deserve to be there. If someone has a 1000+ games played, that doesn't mean they should have pulled themselves out. If they have 1000+ games in an elo and haven't budged, its because that's their current skill level. Granted, there is not much difference in the quality of silver and gold games. It's possessing the ability to carry games that normally will be losses if no one is able to step up and punish the opposing enemies for mistakes and being out of position. Some games are just unwinnable, losing doesn't mean you are bad. Losing ALOT consecutively with very low KDA may reflect there's an issue on your part xD.

Dude 66% of players are silvers and bronze, 90% of players are below plat.

There are probably tons of people who are all still stuck in silver and bronze. Simply playing games is not enough to improve. You have to be thinking about it and conscientiously trying to improve. Watch videos, read guides and always try to die less and think about why you are making every action you make.

Good luck climbing.

I was 64% winrate and it still took me 100 games to go from Bronze 5 to Silver 5. The matchmaking and ELO systems suck ass.

First time being gold this season and i did it in about 100 games from silver 3 to gold. I was silver 2 in season 4 and didnt play at all season 5. You just cant rely on your teammates and you have to be greedy with kills and cs and carry yourself out. Once you get to higher elo, then you can rely on your teammates but most of the players at low elo are braindead. I am not the greatest player but 1000 games in silver its not very good. If you look at my stats, i main twitch to is extremely dangerous fed. I would try to take all kills and jungler cs and not give a damn about my team. The only time i cared was to use them as meat shields so i can position and ace their team. Also you probably shouldnt do this but i would just mute everyone and concentrate on myself right at thr beginning of the game to avoid any tilt.

The game is hard when I soak up the kills and cs. Our teamfights suck and I fall off late game. I can see this working if you're an adc but, I don't adc.

Muting makes sense.

If I try using a late game jungler, I just don't have enough impact early, and the enemy team is pretty fed unless I get lucky and get a solid player. I've tried to BE that solid player but, I don't know.

just goes to show you that luck is a bog factor in low elo, event though people try to say it isn't.

edit: and to your comment about people in low elo with low amounts of games.... they started high elo, they didn't have to go through bronze/silver/gold. they just did their placement matches from the carry over from last season then just play a game every few days to keep from decaying. I wonder if the best players in the world would still be the best if they totally reset mmr instead of 75% resetting it.

Yep, it's luck.

Got paired with a Shyvanna today who told me "cs doesn't matter". He's ranked higher than me on this account.

Just played with a Fizz who died 4 times in 10 mins and lost 3 turrets plus the inhib in 16.

You can't carry this shit.

Here is how you climb. You have to not just be better than everyone else around you, but be astronomically better than everyone else at your elo. If you aren't then its going to be a good 1000 games to climb a tier. Its the sad truth but it is the truth. For those people who get to diamond very quickly 2 things, one they don't mess up their mmr and they don't lose games early. As in they start off with say a 60% winrate which keeps them getting say 30 lp per win and they can skip divisions. Second thing they are astronomically better then the people they are playing against

thats actually not really true. you dont have to be insanely better than the people you are playing against. while this helps, its not the main thing that helps you climb out of low elo faster.

what does help is that you are better at playing against your own team. if you can outplay your own team, then you can win games. probably 75% of the reason low elo games are lost is because because of one of a few things: people feeding like hell (i mane like die 10-15 times before 20 minutes), miscommunication, or people don't react the same in situations, arguing/not listening to criticism. I rarely actually see a good skill matchup/evenly matched game in silver elo.

the second thing you have to do is control the map and think ahead. this is the icing on the cake that will put you ahead every time. don't just think about what the enemy will do, but what your own team will do. it goes hand in hand with the last point. if you can control the minion waves and vision around where your teammate keeps getting caught, or move their expecting he will get caught you can turn the fight and get a kill instead of more feeding.

TBH with 1000 games in silver, you probably belong in silver, unless you make some massive changes to the way you play.

I believe something needs to change. But I disagree with the rest.

And here I took 60 games to get an unranked account into diamond [slayer-jinx-catface]

BananaJannana1 votes

Btw those 23 games to diamond feats are possible by winning all 10 promo games, getting into Plat 1 or high plat, and climbing into diamond from there.
