League of Legends Ranking System

So let me get this straight. League of legends has a ranking system. You play ranked, earn LP and 'climb the ladder' as people say, but there's one major factor in this.. League of legends is a "Team-based MOBA". But why is it that every person gets their skill level determined by someone else? Let's say that you are playing league of legends day-to-day you get your level 30 and you play your ranked games and get put into bronze 5. Well, by fact this means that you are a very bad player, but is this true?

You lost 9 out of your 10 skill deciding matches. Why? Is your knowledge of the game really that bad? Maybe yes, but for many, like myself this isn't true at all. I have played against platinum, diamond, even against some challenger players, but I can't get out of Bronze on my main account. So what is going on here?

I am being 'ranked' by league of legends based on my win/loss ratio (at the moment it is: 103/75, about 2 weeks ago it was: 69/28). But recently I have been getting 'fucked' by my teammates. It seems that almost every game I play we have 2 afk's, who have loaded into the game so we can't remake. And because of teammates like them, it is I that is losing LP and getting de-ranked. So why should my skill level be determined by some asshole? RITO PLS fix the god damn ranking system. Or maybe don't, I already uninstalled and probably I will never re-install this lovely game, because of some assholes ruining my chances to experience 'the climbing' and getting to that challenger.

If you can't get out of bronze it is your problem. The game is very easy to solo carry in low elo. I'm a plat 2 player that has smurfed, I can solo carry every game up to mid plat. If you deserve higher, then you should be able to solo carry. Working as a team doesn't really matter until diamond.

Haha... Sorry, I just laughed at a couple things in your post. But let's talk seriously for a minute though.

League of Legends is a team game, and while it can be unfortunate that one must depend on others to help win, it also encompasses teamwork, and if definitely does show individual skill and knowledge.

Using your logic, there should be an afk or feeder on the enemy team as well, which should balance out so that around 50% of the time you get the bad team, and 50% of the time you get the good one. And if you find that this isn't the case, then there are two possibilities. One possibility is that you just have bad luck, which can happen. It just means you'll most likely get good luck sometime in the future. The second possibility, which is, in my opinion, more likely, is that you could be the problem. Now this isn't a hate post, so don't go rampaging against me. But if you find your team is bad much more often than not, then perhaps you could be the reason. Again, this is a possibility, and not necessarily a fact.

As for your comment about many, like yourself, not being bad because you lost in your "skill-deciding matches", this may or may not be true. Personally, I have seen bronze myself, and I can tell you many people in there deserve to be there, whether they believe so or not (with the exception of some players, of course). Also, you playing against platinum, diamond, and even challenger players must have been in normals, and that doesn't count. A fair amount of high elo players don't play normals, and for those who do, they don't always take it seriously.

Finally, you say that you are constantly losing LP by bad teammates, and that you deserve much higher because of your skill, but your teammates are holding you back. Consider this possibility, however: we've all had to deal with bad teams. And everyone who is high elo right now was low elo at one point and got out. Could it be matchmaking? I am sure matchmaking was a factor, but a small one at that. Perhaps you should re-evaluate your own playstyle.

Again, this isn't a hate post. I am just informing you of what could be true. And personally, I love Riot's idea of how to climb the ladder. I also believe that from bronze-gold you shouldn't get a free win in your next promos if you lost the first one, but that's my opinion.

Good luck and have fun climbing, though!
