Why can't we gain champion mastery points from Co-op vs AI games..?

Hi,

Been playing LoL since Season 1, don't really play any normal/ranked games any more for a variety of reasons (too stressful, not enough free time to get gud etc.) but I enjoy playing co-op vs AI to get my first win of the day bonus IP. Watch a lot of EU/NA LCS, still buy RP every now and then to support the scene, and can hit gold every season with a small amount of effort.

Just wondering why we are not allowed to get champion mastery points from co-op vs AI games..?

I feel really left out that my champs have practically 0 mastery, even though I have hundreds of games of practice on them..!

Because people would just spam bot matches for the easy mastery points. If you really have that much practice with your main champs you shouldn't need bot matches to validate that.

Stop playing bot matches, it no way prepares you for real PvP. As for the stress...you win some you lose some, It's just a game.

You could play normals and just mute everyone to remove the cause of stress (at least partly).

I'm more annoyed that we don't get any mastery points from aram, dominion or twisted treeline.

Because that'd make having mastery in a champ even more meaningless.

Though in reality it's meaningless, champion mastery is meant to reflect your experience in SR PvP, something you don't get by playing bot games. Much as it annoys me (being a bot gamer myself - 100% agreed on the 'fun' point) I can see why they set it up that way because it's meant to show that you have a basic level of competence with a champion in a PvP environment. It's a much different playing field out there - Bots may have better mechanics but players can work on a strategic level while bots can't (and that's why they lose so much).

Because you are not "mastering a champion" when you are playing against those dumb AI bots.
