Went 8/2 and got placed in bronze 5

This is my second time doing and actually did well this time around, winning 8 rounds and losing 2. I stay up till about 1:00 to do my placements, and I was greeted by the notification that I have been placed in bronze 5. I get it that it has to do with mmr, and that I finished b4 last season but I thought at least I could get to b3 to save me some climbing time. It just feels like there was no point in trying in my placements, because even if I lost all 10 I would be b5 still. Kinda makes me want to stop playing league

By performing better you are going to get higher LP gains when you win and smaller losses when you lose. This season was a harder reset than most from what is being talked about. If you want to do better you should always be trying hard. You should never just get through anything in league or you won't be doing well.

Also, not to make you feel bad, bronze is bronze. The divisions that low don't really mean that much. Bronze 1 is about the only one where players skill start to show.

You have 122 deaths in 20 games and 48% kill participation... seems pretty bronze 5...

If your good you'll climb fast. I went 9-1 and got bronze 3. I won 2 games and went to my promos, I won the 3 and went to bronze 1. Then season ended....lol

That makes no sense. You do realize this, right?

Your "placements" are just your first 10 games of ranked. Your next game will be your 11th game of ranked. If you hypothetically skipped your placements and played game 11 instead, you would be playing your first game of ranked... which we call "your first placement game". Do you get how little sense you are making here?

If you "feel like there was no point in trying in my placements" and didn't try and lost more, you would just be making yourself have to win more because you would just be even further behind.
