How are you going to give Akali a really good skin after nerfing her to the point that she no longer is viable?

What you mean not viable? All you have to do is basic attack after marking them. Is that too hard and you consider it as a nerf? Also, her shroud movement speed bonus is a lot better than the MR/Armor since it's mostly used for escaping. Not sure what makes her not viable, to be honest.
Tbh I always thought akalis kit was meant to be bruiser/fighter instead of assassin. She has a lot of similarities to jax. Or at least had a lot when her w made her a tank. And now that her ultimate has a shorter range (the one thing that really identified her as an assassin) I think she fits even more into the bruiser genre.
Jax has gap closer q Akali r Jax has counter strike when he's being focused or needs to cc people, akali has shroud. Both character benefit from ap and ad. The resistance boost jax gets from ult akali used to get from w. Still her spellvamp can help her survive.
I actually prefer akali under the bruiser category, I just think she ought to be treated as such. A bit like what happened to fizz. Although I think akali should have become the new fizz since shehad always been a more sustain oriented champion, while champions with no built in source of sustain who wouldn't benefit from say spirit visage ought to stay glass cannon and go with zhonia like the old fizz. I don't mean she should be building bortk, I just mean going 2 or 3 DPS items the rest tanky should be more common than going full DPS akali.
I'm not saying she cant be both.like amumu is intended as a tank but people still play full ap mumu, same with sejuani a month ago people stacked ap before cinderhulk. If you wanted to you could even make ap irelia work, its really not as bad as you think.
Bruisers are far less unlikely to cross over into the glass cannon world than tank too. Like leesin can be built full DPS even though at LCS level his optimal role is tankybruiser.
As far as assassin potential I think Lee fits more under assassin and akali in fighter. A full DMG Lee can get some pretty sick picks off and 100 to zero you quickly. They borrow a bit of both worlds. I think they should actually be found under both. Like how Annie can be both support and ap mid.
Akali's passive is like a built in wits end. So I really think you'd benefit from some attackspeed and enough durability to sit and auto a bit while spells are on cool down/in between spells. trinityforce rageblade I think could very well be recommended build on her.

oh really, k if so then she'll lean more under assassin. Had it stayed nerfed i think bruiser would suit her more. with the longer range she does not have to all in/ commit so much as she can now escape by ulting to another champion/minion etc.

Never played akali pre-nerf. She's still broken. R three times then peel away with W only to repeat. Once akali latches on someone with her R it's a guarenteed kill.
Maybe you're not playing her right?
she is as viable as she used to be trust me. She still snow balls and does some good damage and has good mobility.
They nerfed her the same reason they had to nerf azir, he was strong with little counter play or weakeness, so like azir they nerfed akali, and kass which was in a very similar state but not so much. But shes still good.
And i mean look at it this way, 
is getting a legendary skin.
In other news, "no longer viable" now means "no longer a free trideckapentakill." =)
that 'really good skin' is literally worse than silverfang whose theme it shares
They only care about us paying them, they dont care if we're not happy with the changes of a champion
Skin release has nothing to do with the power of a champion.
That said.
Akali is absolute shit right now.
