I know there are people like me that love when you full AP combo an unexpected fellow, whether in the mid or from the jungle.
We play Ekko like he should but tank Ekko's emergence (not success, pretty sure sub 50 winrate) will cause Riot to kill this dude to the ground.

So this one time1 votesits cuz his absurd utility on top of mobility and damage. he brings much to much to a fight by himself, aoe slow, aoe stun, aoe damage, shield, healing, massive single target burst and great escape potential as well as engage potential. On one champion thats just to much. Tank ekko is just a different way to utilize his considerably overloaded kit.
aqours fanboy1 votesEkko's kit is overpowered but he's weaker than most assassins. If you take on full AP Ekko, unless you are str8 garbage, you won't get that dominated.
He cannot engage jack shit with his E unless he plans on all-ins which are great early but after it's just you dying stupidly unless your opponent is low, and if he has his R, he'd have to pray he's not bursted or CC'd.
We overestimate Ekko's kit but it's still high risk high reward, just that tank ekko has basically gutted that to the ground and I pray to god he stays an assassins and they change him around so people can't get a quickie off the tank builds.
Requiemsfire1 votesEkko isn't a high risk high reward. Maybe medium or arguably low risk. He has mobility, he has escapes, he has CC and a shield. His Q let's him farm safely and he can fight anyone on an even ground. What this means is that his laning is overall safe while having some pretty powerful dueling potential even as AP.
Sure, you might not win every single match up, but he is by no means an all in, no escape assassin. His E is a stun that can be used to cover escapes, or his own whilst providing a shield, HIs Q is a slow, his 3 hit passive gives him a movement speed buff which lets him outrun most champions and his ultimate is an aoe heal nuke which takes him back to the location he was at 5 seconds ago which can effectively be used as a clutch especially if he's ahead.

If you can't hit that W, well gl with that pitiful shield early.
His E isnt even a stun, it's just a gap closer, or an escape tool.
Maybe I exaggerated with the high risk but definitely not with the high reward. Like since he's AP and melee, if you suck with the Q, you gotta get up close and shit with your E, which means bye bye escape, unless you have your ult, which you'd want to use for damage if you could.
I feel that the people who don't like Ekko, not saying you don't, idk how you feel, is because they misinterpret how OP he is, let's just say in mid lane.
Can you farm safely with Q? Yes you can, but mana efficiency is a thing and is, for example, every time you want to last hit, a Viktor Death Beam comes for your neck, it's not really something you can endure for long can you. Taking on melee mid laners is another thing.
Also, he's a skirmisher. He's supposed to have the dueling potential. It is why I like

on him, it allows him to duel.
Really a good ranged..anything messed you up.
Requiemsfire1 votesWhy would he be picked midlane if he was bad against ranged targets? There aren't a lot of traditional melee mid laners. If you take cookies, you'll sustain yourself for much longer in match ups you aren't winning and enable you to last hit with Q. If you manage your mana well you should be fine simply last hitting. Just don't stop moving to avoid skill shots and don't stand there auto attacking a minion.

And I know that he is a Skirmisher, why I build AD and AP at the same time, but I wish people on this game would stop "omg he's close to me with such mobility omg so much kit" when really it's not hard at all to beat him if you CC or just dodge his Q.
