I can already see it now. Point and click snare. Enough damage and self-sustain to be a total pain in the ass. Oh, and his Realm Warp is both infinitely useful the entire game and could be used to not only sneak early dragons but Support mid-lane fights by bringing BOTH him and the carry into it.
Traditional Supports are dead.
I don't know why Rito had the idea to suddenly make a "support" class. Traditionally there was never any champions who were solely SUPPORT. There were champions who supported better than they could carry and that's what doomed them to the bottomless pit of the "support" role. I think they should abandon the idea that any champion should have to support just because their kit allows them to. But of course then you'd have overpowered champions as supports like Zyra/Malzahar and that's just no fun.
It's because most mages are particularly really strong early game and with the amount of money they can get from spell thief/ ancient coin they can buy decent items. Since ADC's are relatively weak at early game these mages become the dominant force at bot lane. Even the traditional supp cannot shield/heal the burst of these mages. These mages were suppose to be mid or maybe top only but with everything being cheaper now, they are viable in the support role as well. If gold was decreased from ancient coin/spell thief then the traditional supp will get hit very hard. If these mages get nerfed or their core items get nerfed then they wouldn't be able to play mid.
Maybe if the traditional supp received buffs or they made their items even more cost efficient, than they already are, maybe then you'll see more traditional supp being chosen to counter these mages bot lane. As well as, traditional supp spoon feed the adc much more so stronger and healthier adc will dominate the enemy team mid- late game.
I don't know if you're right or not, but if these champions have potential, Ryze definetely has too. This mage meta is seriously fucking me up
