Tahm Kench is no longer a reliable support champion

After his recent nerfs, wherein devouring either an ally or enemy, he is grounded and slowed for a whopping 95%, Tahm Kench just doesn't feel like a good pick for anyone wanting to go as a tanky support. He used to be very good and had a strong place as a support champion, because he was able to keep allies safe or bring enemies closer, immobilising them in the process. However, his abilities cost a lot of mana early game, encouraging you to take Biscuits, his passive relies on health and health alone (better grab that Warmogs asap) and his W costs so much for such little effect now. If you want to be of any use to allies whilst supporting, one of the only reliable Kench builds would require a ton of movement speed. I used to take Phase Rush on him, and built attack speed to keep enemies stunned and locked down. But then I have to trade a lot of resources for it, and I have to be more aggressive. I struggle to see why anyone would now willingly pick Kench anymore, he has turned into the Teemo of support as in he is a very VERY situational pick.

Tahm needs some sort of buff which makes him more of a reliable asset to his teammates, instead of just a beefy meat shield who gets shredded. Either lowering the cost of his W, turning down the slow on his W, or bringing back the passive of running away from enemies with an ally in your mouth giving you a speed boost. This dude's mouth is a HUGE trait for Kench, and yet now it's been turned into the worst thing about him. I spend more time eating enemies than I do saving allies because in the long run it's more effective.

Some might agree, some might disagree. This is my personal opinion on him, and I strongly believe he needs a bit of a tweak on his W. Because right now, Tahm Kench sucks ass. Give the frog some love please.

But hey, at least he's just casually dicking every melee top.

But his support winrate increased after the kit was restructured

You need to take a look at his pickrate for support though. 32% compared to 93% (Rakan), 92% (Thresh), 83% (Nautilus), etc. Even Fiddlesticks is picked more than Tahm Kench.

There are a huge amount of support champions picked way more than Tahm Kench these days. The people who still play him are good players who play him well. Tahm Kench is more reliable and more useful in Toplane, and has a larger pick/win rate in Toplane as well, compared to support.
