That moment when you

balance a game around 0.00001% of the player base instead of the people that will leave the game and stop watching LCS in spite of your shit decisions.

Hi, I am a software engineer for the automotive manufacturing industry that develops sotware (just to give you an idea of my qualifications as a programmer and algorithms expert). I am going to give good 'ol rito ideas that actually have fucking rationale to back it up. Because lately I look at the patch notes and think to myself "What the fuck is the intent behind this change." or "What do they actually want this buff/nerf to do as far as gameplay is concerned."

Fixing snowballing and game PACE

One of the issues i see with snowball and pace of the game is the tier 2 tower. The tier 2 tower at 15 minutes has less armor and mr than the tier 1 tower. Why? Think back to how many games the tier 2 tower was completely dumpstered before or around the 15 minute mark. This means more global gold AND more map control.

Put mana pots back in the game. The issue with mana pots was originally that a syndra could waste her mana, pop a potion and be back to enough mana to ult an adc to death. I know they are buffing mana regen, but does it make sense to give mages free mana regen? At least when mana pots were in the game mages had to pay gold to get that mana back. Now they just get it for free because riot has fucked mages over for years. Not only that but if a mage has a dorans ring a hp pot and a mana pot, that means said mage only has ONE health pot. Now they will have 2 health pots AND enough mana regen to make up for not having mana pots. Seems like intelligent design if you want mages to be able to spam abilities and stay healthy in lane, but that means riot has to actually care about every champion that goes mid or uses mana (seems unlikely).

Rework adc items again.

Rework all support items. Give tanky engage supports an item that helps them fulfill their job. Casters have ardent censor. Tank and poke supports should have an item that buffs what they do (engage, tank, or poke).

Bring back sightstone, becuase when you are the bot lane getting dumped on it takes a lot longer to fulfill your quest and get the vision you need. Especially since you are the company that wanted less vision wars (that is the reason oracles was removed right?). And you are the company that wanted supports to not be ward monkeys right? That was the reason you nerfed vision to lasting 2 minutes instead of 5 right? To force supports to be more efficient with their vision and not just always be safe right? Or you could just try to balance the poke > engage > healer > poke, etc. counter pick triangle, but I think riot said fuck that shit a long time ago.

The RNG dragons are shit too. The issue is there use to be so many different team comps you could run. You could run a super early game team comp where you want to bully the enemy laners to where they had little to no items. You could run a scaling super late game team comp where you just had to farm up and survive until you get your items. You could run poke comps, dive comps, seige comps. The issue the rng elemental dragons introduce is that they only reward one team, not both. It creates an environment where you have to be lucky, and if you are you have significantly higher chances of winning the game. One example would be if the first two dragons were wind dragons and you are running a scaling late game comp. The thrid and fourth dragons are infernals. Because you have out scaled the enemy team in the mid to late game, you basically get the infernals for free. If they try to contest, you get kills and the infernal for free. This could cause a 3k - 5k gold swing over a dragon neither team has any control over.

Tanks deal too much damage with no damage items. Just look at ornn, maokai, sejuani, etc. This needs to stop. IF you are a tank and you build tanky, you should be a tank. The juggernauts update was fine, but when you have tanks like ornn who can just dump on champions that traditionally were lane bullies like renekton, we have an issue. IF a tank wants to do damage they should have to invest in damage items, if a tank wants to be tanky they should be tanky and not be able to do enough damage to solo kill mages and carries. They are there to soak damage and disrupt the enemy team, not soak damage, disrupt the enemy team, and kill a carry and a support.

That is the isssue, we no longer feel in control of our games results. I can't reflect on a game and say "I did this wrong. If I don't do this my chances of winning will increase dramatically.". I can't control my jungler dieing. I can't control my team. I can only control me and my farm. The sad part about this is that this has been said by a good portion of the community already.

Another thing. As a programmer when you make 50 different changes at once, how are you able to track which changes have which effects. It makes no sense to change the game this drastically in such a short period of time. It is literally impossible as you don't have a variable and a control. I think Riot hired a bunch of junior developers for the balance team and just let them make all of the decisions.
