I wish Riot would have left Vel'Koz out of the update

By far my favorite champion in the game. Something about his kit just makes you feel powerful and useful in any team comp. I haven't played the reworked version, but before the changes he was the absolute epitome of balance. He never was OP or Useless. If you could land a good combo, you earned a kill. Like most mages but screw up the order (not proc the passive) and you didn't get the kill. I know a lot of people asked for him to stay the same, I was one of them, but it's to late now. I hope he doesn't have problems with being over powered. Being able to shred a tank means you can kill a squishy that much faster, that doesn't exactly scream balance.

Trust me, his pure true damage ult is the last thing you should be afraid of from the mage update. This season mage mains can rejoice after being shitted upon since season 3.

I know they buffed a lot of the mages, a lot of them needed the love. Cass, Malz etc. But he didn't need to be a part of it.

If you listened to what Riot was saying, he did. This update was about defining identity and Velkoz's identity is as a tank destroyer. They added true damage scaling and allowed him to execute a pure true damage ult to facilitate tank busting.

He is the vayne of mages now. Now, other than liking his kit, theres a reason to pick him.
