Let's talk about Shen: Should Shen stay a top lane or should he go bot lane?

I wanna talk about Shen for a moment, I know riot is planning to give Shen a game play update (https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/202294884-Champion-Update-Schedule) but with the additions of juggernauts and common top lane picks like for example: Darius DrMundo Nasus I'm starting to think that Shen isn't as great as he used to be in the top lane because he's getting stomped on by much stronger top laners. To be honest, I'm hoping that riot would consider making Shen a support champ . My reason for this is because of Shen's kit (especially his taunt and ultimate) works well in the bot lane. What do you guys think Should Shen stay top or should he go bot?

He should no doubt remain a top pick. But having him be more capable in bot lane would indeed be nice. While he is capable now, there is others that do what he does but better. One of his biggest negatives would be his ult is largely useless in bot. The whole point of Shen ult is making an even fight uneven or saving someone's life. Turning a 2v2 into a 3v2 is a quick way to win a match, or saving that Jynx that is about to die. But if Shen is already in bot lane, its basically just another shield on an extremely long cooldown.

Shen isn't weak top either. He just doesn't focus on offense like all tops do to some degree. All top picks either build BC/SG like the juggernauts or just pure tank since they have innate damage already like Mundo. Shen focuses on being impossible to kill and an annoyance and is never about damage. So he probably just isn't entertaining to play as other top laners.

Not saying he is weak but I can see why he isn't around much, even Nasus who builds tanky at least gets offensive with his Q. Shen on the other hand isn't killing anyone anytime soon, only the extremely stupid can really die to him.

Mid/top lane, because of Zed.

Shen usually won some one elses lane through his ult and lost his own lane in the process.

Hes not in a bad situation, masteries most notable grasp of the undying and its a tank meta.

Naming a counter like darius or nasus as an excuse for him to move to botlane is just silly.

I've had no problems with shen in the top lane actually. Haven't died 1v1 in lane unless i've made some incredibly stupid mistake or taken a tower shot by accident. I just play very passive, focus on farm, and rush sunfire cape

But you're right he is a lot of fun as a support and it would be cool to see him given more of an advantage bot lane considering his ult is basically useless in a 2v2 because of the root

Shen's ult works well in the botlane

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Shen's ult is specifically designed for him to be away and dealing with something else yet still be able at any time to join his allies on the other side of the map. It's a splitpusher's ult, not a support ult.
