Free Camera or Locked Camera Mode for Vel'koz?

I played Vel'koz for the first time today, and a few games afterwards with him. I've usually used the locked camera mode on league, but I'm not really sure if It would actually be better for Vel'koz. I mainly started to consider switching to free camera since his ult can reach off-screen for me. Any thoughts or suggestions?

P.S. I'm level 11

You're level 11? I'm gonna tell you right now, the best thing you can do is adjust yourself to Unlocked Camera. Don't be me, don't be the me who has 4 to 5 years of this game playing exclusively locked camera and unable to play without it being locked for 80% of the game. It's just better to use unlocked, gives you more immediate freedom to move the camera. And any champion with a blink is easier to play unlocked because the camera won't jump back into position.

... And especially for Long Range champs, unlock that cam. So Vel'Koz, short story short, play unlocked if you can.

Thankfully I have recently began to adjust to unlocking my camera, before anybody tells me what I just said. More or less I play 50% locked and 50% unlocked, depending on the moment to moment need, and I'm rather comfortable there. Unless I'm just straight up tunnel visioning I don't have any trouble keeping up with my surroundings.

Free camera is definitely a bonus with Vel if you can use it, and it will work better on him for beginners than most champions because you mostly just sit at range chucking spells rather than going all in as Leona or something. When I support with him I usually only adjust the camera every 15 seconds or so as the minions push so it's not too demanding.

Free camera for everyone. It's inherently better once you grow accustomed to moving the camera around.

You should get used to free camera mode. Trust me, its a lot better to get used to it in learning than to wait until post 30....

There isn't really a reason not too, except for maybe lane phase. I play with unlocked, but I keep my finger on the space key when I don't need to look elsewhere.
