Questions about Evelynn

No, this doesn't have to do with the Evelynn support I wanted to try. I have actual questions on Evelynn jungle because I enjoy it and can play it...okay-ish. I mean, I don't feed early game, I have my clear path down, I know what's gankable, but I have like one specific question that could fix my main issue.

How do I get into the enemies backline to kill their squishies? I know with Evelynn stealth it should be easy, but whenever I charm their adc the team begins to move back together or the adc moves forward and everyone else blocks them. There were times where everyone is mid and I charm someone from one of the jungle/river sides when they're kind of alone (everyone is still around them, but there's a lot more space between them) and I go in. And I die. I'd get focused and I'd get Lux binded, TF stunned, Jhin snared, and all that good stuff. Which they_ should_ do, but how do I avoid that?

I won't lie when I say I get impatient and try to initiate the fight myself, but a lot of times everyone is just walking back and forth for 5 minutes throwing the occasional ability into the enemy team and not really fighting. And if my team is fighting, I'll try to kill their adc if they're standing back but then everyone turns on me.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what it is. I'll be doing good with ganks, but once everyone begins team fighting I fall off hard.

That's kind of the issue with Evelynn. Her entire playstyle comes from pressuring so hard early before people have time to group. That's why if you stick as a group after 20 minutes or so, Evelynn can't really do her job safely. That's also why it's a lot harder to make an impact on the game if you get behind early game. Her ganking during the laning phase is borderline unparalleled but at the expense of mid/late game grouping. Mid/late game your safest bet is to pick off stragglers.

You wanna play Evelynn? You cannot be impatient and try to initiate fights yourself. Your kit isn't just 'not designed' to do so, but is designed against initiating fights.

That's kind of the trade-off with Evelynn. She's not really that much of a teamfighter. If you want to initiate teamfights and do a lot in teamfights, Evelynn just isn't the right champion to play. You're far better off playing Jarvan IV, Sejuani, Zac, Rek'Sai etc.

Just dont charm, or charm AS you E Q, you will probably 1 shot the adc with no charm

If you're in the team fight phase you don't really need to be charming, most Evelynn's will just flank around ( Suppose this scenario is mid lane around their downed T2 tower, red side )

Evelynn would go past the bush near the red side and around the enemy's formation, then your team should start pushing up while you continue to flank their backline Your charm isn't needed when you're in the lane game with Evelynn as your W/Q will probably oneshot, R if needed but probably will be used to escape more than anything

you can: don't go for squishy you can charm their tank supp because if the tank does the opposite what the tank is suppost to do it's usefull, you can shred most or even all of tanks hp assasins job is picking off vulnerable targets, low targets, targets that are somewhere they shouldn't be etc. adc is not the only high priority champ you got mid damage toplaner can be also someone strong and their jungler aswell other thing you can do is not do the charm and just go for them because sometimes it could work waiting behind them and maybe your team somehow makes them back off and if they during falling back get scattered you can again go in without charm because the charm would force them to form a defensive position from you

also you can watch streamers that play Evelynn to see what they do etc. (you don't need to watch the stream live)

In late game if u see an adc u q flash e q r, it's the most efficient combo if u want to surprise ur enemy

Evelynn doesn't need charm, you can just EQQQ (+electrocute and R if needed, but usually not) an isolated target and they die instantly. This should be possible after 2 items, assuming you didn't die early lvl1-6.

item 1402 item 3100

Lategame Eve is a monster that just runs around instantly deleting squishies, charm just makes them alert and then you can't surprise them anymore.

I would suggest alternating your positioning to engage the ADC. If they always assume you are in the backline then you would catch their ADC open if you engage from frontline. Also, try to work with your team. If all the opponents go to protect their ADC, then your team could engage them and focus the ADC.

And I personally avoid using my charm unless I know that I will be able jump on that target (be it by Flashing or Protobelt) or when I want to force them to back (in case the enemy engages). Evelynn has a good amount of burst damage just with her other abilities to kill any squishy.

And about patience, she is the definition of a patient assassin. You always have to position closely, but not too closely to your opponents. You have to avoid being spotted and walk at the very edge of her detection range. You have to wait for the right opportunity to kill.
