Just because you one-trick a role does not mean that role belongs to you. If you put jungle as a secondary and get it, that does not mean that because you pick first you can go 'Sorry buddy but I'm going top' and force someone else into a role they did not queue up for by autolocking Nasus top under the logic of "I carried 4v5 last game" and then go 1-9 and shit talk the jungler whom you stole the role from for not jungling terribly well. Especially not when they were 4-1 until the lane you fed started roaming.

That's not even an OTP issue, that's stealing another person role which is not what an OTP is associated with, being an OTP means that an Illaoi OTP autofilled ADC will play Illaoi ADC or won't know how to position on a normal ADC since they never play them.

I assumed one-tricks were just one-champ people. I typically see them take that champ to any role despite logic.

The more reasonably awkward bit is support mains. Maybe 1 game in 50 (probably less) do you get put in your second role. Not only do you get ADCs assuming by default you're a moron support fill, but you get flamed when you go 0-2 in top lane.

I think the better lesson here is: If you try to one-trick a champ, it would be in your best interests to learn how to play that champ into multiple roles. It's what I did for Karthus :P

Ive seen this issue in most tiers but I think people are more cooperative in the higher elos where changing roles is an afterthought where the consequences are known.

Eh, well, sorry for your experience. I just pick my champion, and go to whatever role i get by dice roll. Seems to work out for me fairly well.

Honestly, report every player who thinks they own a role/champion in question. I usually don't ban my teammates' own picks but if they're last or second to last and i know this is a highly contested pick, it's very likely they're not going to get it BUT we're going to have to play against it.

Now, Riot also knows to whom the roles have been assigned to and there's chat logs in champ select to prove that someone hijacked someone's role. Don't think that these people are getting away with it and Riot does punish such behavior more severely than toxicity. I usually (after reporting them) also submit a support ticket if i come across such a player because there are no specific categories there and i want to make sure this player is in RIot's crosshairs.

Also, don't back down and give them the role. Pick your champion you intended to and go where you've been assigned to go. If the game is already going to be a loss because of this behavior, don't allow them to get away with it and don't leave the queue and taking the LP penalty yourself. If you do this, they are absolutely getting off without a punishment as Riot then has no game as evidence to pin it on their ass.

All true OTPs will play their champ in any position possible or just dodge right away. I main Swain so I take him top, mid or supp and when I used to main Aatrox I took him top, jgl and mid.
