A note from a reformed player.

I just got the notice that I got my honor restored and I can start working toward honor capsules and such again. Coming from an account that was almost permanently banned for flaming, I feel like this is a big step for me. It makes me feel good knowing that I managed to stamp out that part of my life, and enjoy the game for what it is instead of getting upset at every little misplay.

So I guess I just wanna say... no matter how toxic you are, you CAN reform yourself.

Just look at tyler1.

I'm happy for you, but I don't really think that the vilest offenders come to the community forums, let alone the "Player Behavior" boards. It's my personal belief that the less a person cares about consequences, the more that person can be tempted into pushing the ethical envelope. Thus, I fully support penalizing "toxic" behavior.

However, I don't really imagine that those same people who are probably toxic because they couldn't care less about penalties (after all, they could just play Overwatch or Fortnite) are going to log on to see what other offenders or offended have to say.

I don't mean to sound rude, or especially not hostile to you Vyr Thirku, I simply wanted to point out that you may be preaching to the choir, while the "sinners" our out and about somewhere else (perhaps telling people that they do not no de way, lol).

I think at best the people claiming to be "reformed" just finally took the time to learn the game mechanics, understand their teammates perspective within their roles, and as a result of those two things converging have less of a reason to get agitated and flame people. People that are actually toxic don't care to learn the game, or entertain other people's perspectives which is why you will never see a truly reformed toxic player.

When I started I was a rage machine but I didn't really take it into chat. Then I began to learn more about my individual role and I would get mad at people for not catering to my specific needs within that role. From there I learned the basics on all 5 roles and now very rarely do I get annoyed unless something is just blatantly wrong, and only then after I address the issue in the most polite way possible at least twice. If someone makes basic errors 7, 10, 15 times in a game anyone that knows how to play will get tilted. Especially if it is ranked. That irritation may rear its ugly head different ways. Verbal abuse, inting, not helping the player, anxiety about team fights making people clam up because they know they can't depend on someone to do X.

But no, truly toxic people don't care to get better.

tyler is not a good example since he is still expected to be rebanned in the near future

Congrats to you. Not sure I’d say look to Tyler1 for reformed players though.
