BE required for Mastery

So today i got enough tokens to get mr 6 on a champion I like,but i cannot upgrade it for 2 reasons. 1.I don't have enough BE since now i only get any considerable amount from leveling up 2.I want to get enough for when Swain comes out. Is there ANY reason the amount needed was boosted this much?Because we do not get more BE than we did before the update,and it just forces some of us to choose between champions and mr.I know that some people don't really care about it but i want to see that i progressed at a certain champion without having to choose between two things I want.
