Why is Quinn not played more?!?

KR Vel Koz··4 votes·3,946 views

Alright, so I usually only play Top Nidalee Riven , Mid Swain Velkoz Yasuo , or Jungle MasterYi . I don't exactly like support because it pisses me off. I just like "doing" the killing. I don't have any ADC's I can play. Jinx bothers me and so does Tristana (their playstyle).

Today I logged on and checked the free roster, and I met this beautiful champion known as Quinn. I'm in love. I have never loved anyone playstyle, nor picked up anyone else in one game, just as fast! I got GREAT K/D's with her, and I got 15+ kills! I loved it so much!

Why does no one else play Quinn? Why does no one like her? I love playing ADC, as long as I can play quinn. I don't get why I don't ever see her! She is so strong!

Anyone want to give some insight?

I play her top lane exclusively. Her kit is amazing in 1v1, but not so good in 2v2.

Because she is subpar in both lanes. Other ADCs are better, and other ranged tops are better. Why pick Quinn over Tristana and why pick Quinn top of Gnar?

BluePolarizer1 votes

Quinn is a better duelist - the only reason to pick her over Gnar. I killed an 18 kill super fed assassin Xin Zhao taking zero damage late game before. I don't think even Vayne can do that.

Jamaree1 votes

Exactly, the ONLY reason to pick her over Gnar, in turn, Gnar gets to be tankier, can be played in a pleothora of roles from tank to DPS AND gets to be a decent duelist. Also, this game is based around teamfighting. Sure, if you are far ahead and/or your team knows how, you can split push carry, but normally, it comes down to teamfighting to win games and when you are just a better duelist, it doesn't tend to go very far.

She's weak late game team fights. (her ult is better split push and small engages) Her range is bad. But she's a wonderful top laner.

SpongebobIsLife1 votes

she can't orb walk as well as other adcs, her ult is useless in teamfights, she's easily abused by adcs with more range than her.

Being one of the rare people who actually plays Quinn frequently in bot lane, I can tell you why.

Feast or Famine.

Quinn needs to get ahead in lane. She is very high burst damage, but she is very, very unsafe. Her ult makes her a melee attacker with no extra resistance, no untargetability, and 0 safety. Her risk is very high, like her reward. Why pick her over Vayne, who also has a damn good chance, rips through enemies, and has self peel? Not to say Quinn is bad, she is just a risky pick, and she doesn't even have the best auto range. Tbh she should have 550.

She isn't too useful in teamfights since most of her attacks & even ult involves in only 1v1 people only, unlike Vayne who can burst tanks easier than Quinn does.

Hm..I guess maybe its different that I play normals right? I'm talking about unranked, not even blind pick here! I enjoy playing normals because honestly I'm not that amazing and I'm bronze IV.

Is it a bad pick for normals? I've carried two games in a row, easy

Retillin1 votes

In normals, if you are having fun and winning just keep playing her. She's my second go to ADC (after Jinx). And I really enjoy split pushing with her as a solo top lane. So just stick with what you enjoy. It's a game.

I think it's mostly due to the fact she isn't played competitively. Although there's something to be said about her rather subpar team fight. Her teamfight kinda sucks because she has no attack speed steroid, her escape brings her closer to the enemy for a second allowing the enemy to blow her up, she has no ult for a team fight, along with no real burst for a team fight, and little to no utility.

Other than that, she's a very strong lane bully. She can beat almost every melee in a 1v1 and out trade most adcs. She relies on snowballing the game, split pushing, and small skirmishes to win. Early game champs aren't very good because games usually go until late game.

No attack speed steroid? Have you seen the passive on her W? Or pretty much her entire ult?

Stonington1 votes

Her ult isn't for team fighting, that's a moot point.

Her AS steroid is contingent on her passive which is a random factor. Or, again, you have to use vault which is dangerous to do in a team fight. Not only that, it's a 3 second 40%AS steroid for 3 seconds. This is far far lower than nay other adc in both duration and %.

Everyone else said most of it. Her kit is pretty much geared to fighting one target at a time. Only her Q and second cast of R are able to hit multiple targets. Compared to pretty much every other ADC she doesn't have that in her kit and it makes her very feast or famine. Vayne is similarly single target but her silver bolts can shred even the tankiest of enemies whereas Quinn is more sustained damage compared to Vayne. She has high burst but for single target burst she is not in the same league as Vayne.

Quinn is an incredibly odd champion. She has an incredibly oppressive early game in the top lane. Almost so much so that she nearly invalidates melee champions. Against other ranged champions she has to put so much more effort to get a reasonable early game to transition into the mid game. But that can nearly be all for not because Quinn does not scale very well into the late game.

In my eyes Quinn is and should be built as a melee champion. She just happens to have a ranged auto attack. Which gives her this really weird feel, ulting never feels quite right if you happen to play her as a ranged champion. And even as a melee champion all I use her ult is to get from point A to point B, and nothing else. And Quinn never reaches this incredible power spike because half or more of the power of her ult is so tied with her W. Maybe it is a good thing to have her actually continuously grow in power, but she never gets this really strong power spikes. Example at level 6 Graves gets his gigantic burst potential, while Quinn loses her passive and gains a marginal amount of Attack speed for becoming a temporary melee champ.

Pretty much this. Either you sacrifice some offense for some defense stats, or you are mostly useless in team fights. If it seems like my team is unable to avoid unfavorable team fights, I usually grab item 3111 item 3156 item 3143 (usually leaving the last two unfinshed until later) and use her ultimate to rush in from behind and kill the other team's back line. BotRK with her AS boost in ult and execute on leaving ult give quite a lot of burst.

Not ideal, but sometimes it is better than other options because it is what you need to support what your team is doing.

I like Quinn but I hate her animations and her clunky E -> passive mechanic. Vaulting off an enemy should feel crisp but most of the times I'm just wondering if my passive will go off and if I then have to move up to get into range to proc it. I'm not too sure about this but I don't think the animation completes if you are CC'd. Unlike Corki who can valkyrie, get hit by a snare and just be snared where he lands rather than where he got snared. This makes her vault a really risky ability.

Her animations? Self explanatory for anyone who's ever played it. I don't adc often but she's one of the adcs I know for sure I have a high probability of cancelling her auto with. Her arrow is in the air and I think "Okay, now I can move." Nope. the arrow deals no damage. Makes sense.
