Worried about Adaptive runes with certain champions

I know this is an edge case that can't come up too terribly often - but what happens if your playing say Jax in lane - finish your ten minute item 3145 and suddenly instead of 6 AD you now have 8 AP ... but then you level up and now you have 6 AD again

I feel like the adaptive runes in order to work for champions that tend to want to build both AD and AP Akali, Jax, and Teemo to some extent, can potentially end up with someone having 24 extra AP one second, and level up and poof the extra magic damage you may have built a item 3111 for now suddenly becomes 17 extra AD - what happens if somehow a champion has equal amounts of both? again I know this is an edge case ... but I'm still worried

Adaptive gives you bonus stats based on what you are building more of. If you are building more AP it gives you AP, if you're building more AD it gives you more AD.

As he said, and it will also change on the fly if you sell or buy other items involving ad/ap.

Yeah champions with hybrid scaling could swap their dominant stat, but you pretty much can't itemize effectively against their damage in the first place.
