So I was laning against a Trundle earlier and I managed to kill him pre-6 but after he got his ult I couldn't fight him at all even though I had a kill and more cs over him. (I was a Renekton btw). So I was just wondering how I should handle fighting Trundle in the future since his ult seems to have a really low cd and it basically makes it impossible to 1v1 him. Any advice?
make him waste his ult, then fight him at cd
renekton has a pretty weak all-in so against champions with strong all-ins, (garen, darius, trundle, shyvana etc) he falls short. his biggest strength tho is that he can push the lane and harrass very effectively, even under tower. he can whittle trundle down until you can kill him, but killing is not renektons main objective. he is the prototype of a lanecontrol champion so if you dont use that potential fully, you waste renektons power.
these guys dont get trundles counter lol. just get a calling. trundle is a sustain type. so cut his sustain and walla. he dies. same goes for mundo. calling is key.
First off- if you're going to use Renekton versus Trundle- wait to use your ult. Dominus gives Renekton increased Health. However, Subjugate steals a percent of health (Trundle ult). So, if you ult before Trundle or during a Trundle ult- you're helping him heal. Secondly, Trundle uses mana. Build Renekton with crazy lifesteal- and poke. Force Trundle to use his mana as much as possible before you engage. Then when he ults, you peel. His ult will be on CD, and his mana practically gone.
Buy a QSS and laugh at him as you deny his ultimate completely. QSS cleanse debuff on you, including trundle ult, mordekaiser ult,zed ult, Yasuo ult , etc. It also remove grievous wound debuff on ignite or executioner calling so...
It's not the ulti that's the issue - it's the fact that you're playing renekton vs trundle. You're an early lane bully and very effective against squishier tops. Renekton doesn't scale as hard and he's not nearly as useful as trundle once his skills are all on CD.
