@Meddler What is your stance on waveclear in this game?

Title.

Every time I see some change to some mage (hehe, rhyme) I get the idea that the goal is to remove strong waveclear and view it as a toxic mechanic. I really like mages and a lot of that satisfaction is from clearing a massive wave with old anivia ultimate or viktor laser. It made me felt like I was really doing a lot to help the team when we were in a siege situation so that we could survive and hold the fort. But it really bugs me when a core strength of these mages are viewed as toxic. Personally, I prefer it over assassins having the strength to "kill people good".

Anyways, those are my thoughts, I'm more asking for yours.

Waveclear without risk is a very serious problem because it seriously stifles gameplay. And when it's also on a champion that's extremely punishing to dive, you suddenly have a serious problem. What are you supposed to do against a champ that you can't outpush and can't dive?
