Hey, how about giving Kassadin an actual early game? I mean you did buff and remake just about every other assassin giving them a ridicules ammount of damage, sustain, escapes or everything in one. How about giving him an early game too so he can actually survive in lane properly?
First off, Kassadin can survive in lane if you play it well.
However, as for why Kassadin didn't get anything in the assassin update, my guess is something along the lines of him needing more work than they can give him in the assassin roster update. I expect him to be slated for a full VGU at some point in the future.
He is just fine.

Kassadin is a tough champ to balance so they leave him underpowered. One small buff can lead to unforseen catastrophic events aka permaban.
