Do You Think Darius Is a Zero Skill Champ? I Don't.

Now, before I begin I want to be very clear, any random scrub can pick up Darius and do decent at worse, I'm not arguing that.

But a champ that is no skill is one that is easy to simply Instalock, and will be naturally fairly hard to counter pick (counter picking Darius is hilariously easy) and will preform well even with noob builds (Darius needs to have someone who knows how to build him to have has potential maximized, the biggest mistake I see every time someone picks Darius is they start Doran's Shield, which is what's recommended, where sword + pots or even cloth + pots word be a much better start) and can faceroll with poorly timed and poorly sequenced combos. Darius might fit into this category, except his Q does more damage on the edge and his ulti does more damage per stack of your passive, but really Darius fits here. Also ideally a nooby champ should do fairly well at every stage of the game, (which Darius pretty much does, yes he falls off late, but even late he's not bad, he's just not as good as early), should have at least an average margin for counterplay (Darius has a huge amount of ways to counterplay him, so much so that I laugh when people say their is nothing you can do against him) and finally they should be forgiving in mistakes such as overextending and being caught out. Darius has zero escapes, so he can not fit here.

Of course, no champion is so easy they would fit into every on of these categories, but I wanted to explain why I feel Darius is easy to learn, but hard to master, not the faceroll total noob monster your average scrub would make him out to be.

Some champions require more skill than others, but even the simplest champions have enough skill involved that the difference between someone who occasionally plays said champion and someone who has mastered said champion is enormous. Mechanical knowledge always hits a limit where you simply know everything you can know, however situational knowledge is where true skill comes from.

Most people simply mistake mechanical knowledge as the only type of knowledge that decides how good you are with a champion.
