Please sit down..we need to have a talk about Malzahar (rant warning)

So full disclosure I used to be a malz main. He was my favorite champion, until the rework happened. And I know what a lot of people are probably thinking Malz is to strong that shield is bs he pushes the wave to hard now. But Im telling you rite now in fact he is incredibly weaker then what he used to be. They nerfed his e damage so hard that alone it can no longer kill minions at any stage of the game. His q damage got nerfed for a lower cool down which I personally dont like, its a tough to hit skill shot Id rather it do more damage, and his ult has been completely gutted. Now his new passive would of helped old malz out but literally does nothing for the new style for malz. And his new minions..are honestly not even as strong as full ap old malz. (yes you get more but if you had enough cool down you could have up to 3 out on old malz and they wouldnt get one shot by turrets.) So heres my point all these people complaining about new malz being to strong, you have no idea what your talking about hes extremely weak compared to old malz. I personally miss old malz..and know Ill never see him again..I just wish riot would stop messing with champions that are actually in a good spot to try and make champs more popular. We have 123 champions theyre not all going to be super popular. Malzahar item 3070 RIP

I have to agree, I also used to play Malz a lot and was my main focus for playing League. The new Malz hasn't solved any of old Malz's problems, just made him weaker (lower damage overall), or more frustrating to play against (frustrating shield, more punishing to melee). I feel that the rework has failed in its stated goal of making Malz a less toxic champion, as it has instead done the exact opposite.

Aside from the gameplay level, the rework failed on the conceptual level for Malzahar as it missed the point of why and how Malzahar summoned Voidling in the first place. The core concept of Malzahar is a being that is tearing the world apart (Call of the Void, Null Zone), or tearing the minds of those around him apart (Malefic Visions, Nether Grasp), and as a side effect lettings the horrors from beyond into the world. By moving his Voidlings from his passive to his active, it missed the original concept inspired from Lovecraftian stories and instead just makes him an evil summoner.

Honestly, I do hope they chose to revert this core concept change for Malzahar and change him back to how he was before, but use the code and experience they gained on the Yorick rework, as that is the real summoner champion for League of Legends.

Your points are really good even though I didn't play the old Malz very often. I'm also glad that a post made about a champion isn't talking about them champion being OP and shit.

I used to play malz alot and my biggest objection is Vizier Malzhar is no longer red (His scarf is pink!)

Jokes aside, unless you have 5+ voidlings out and hes stupid enough to walk into ult range, you do zero damage.

You could land Q, E, and place W and R, and by the time you have enough voidlings the ults done, he has half health, and he walked away.

It's disgusting the low amount of damage malzahar has. Before I feel Malzahar was a high skill champ, timing the voidlings and landing everything and keeping them in the W gave you quite a bit of damage.....but I just don't see it now.

I don't even main him, but every time I got him in an ARAM I'd thoroughly enjoy him. Now, when I get him, I just fucking dodge. I hate the new Malzahar. Sadly, the community thinks otherwise, and nothing seems to be able to change that.

I still play him but I agree his damage is just to pitiful now.

I never even like the Voidling on his old passive or his new W. I miss the Void pool so much. :(

I do love his new passive, but even that got gutted to the point it not worth having anymore aside from past level 16.

I disagree that you can't do damage early on. I've chunked off health of my enemies with just a simple e and w combo. If done correctly that is. I still do miss old Malzahar a bit though. I've gotten used to the new Malzahar, and I feel that it is more toxic to play against.... Riot failed big time.

sorry you dont enjoy malz anymore becouse you are used to op stuff when you try the balanced stuff you just dont feel it anymore what i reccomend you is to get used to balanced stuff and he is fine at the moment his Q dmg got nerfed but its 100% reliable for harass now since its instant without delay he can still do them flashy combo kills its just harder its more balanced which is healthy to the game

who needs his e when his W is like a 5.0 as kog maw kog maw chasing you down slowed with rylais when he puts his e on you. he doesn't need his e for damage he just needs his w.

malzahar used to be toxic as in a point and click 100-0 champ. his ult did something like 140% ap damage and supresses. ugly. but now his stupid little minions one shot both squishies and tanks and they do too much sustained damage
