Has something changed?

So, I used to be able to get a stable ping of 40 and it rarely fluctuated through my games. Now I can only achieve a ping of 68 and it spikes randomly throughout the game. Nothing has changed in my setup, still on Ethernet, only device when I play. This leads me to believe that something has changed in the recent patches, because before this month I have had a stable ping for all but 2 years. If anyone knows anything, it would be greatly appreciated.
