The Assassin mastery is useless compared to Secret Stash

The Assassin mastery is pretty much useless and worthless even for top and mid laners. The Secret Stash mastery offers a much better value than the Assassin mastery. Secret Stash regenerates your health and mana faster, and this is obviously way better on almost every champions. On the other hand, Assassin only makes you deal 2% extra damage only when you're alone, which is pretty much unnoticeable when you compare the amount of sustain Secret Stash gives. Let's say you were dealing like 200 damage per attack without this mastery, you'd only deal 4 more damage with this only when you're alone. And by mid and late game, you'll be with at least one teammate most of the time, so Assassin will have no effect later. I know you don't really buy potions later during a game, but it's way more useful during laning phase than the unnoticeable amount of extra damage Assassin gives. This Assassin mastery should either be buffed (like to 5%) or be replaced with a different mastery that'd give much better value.

For junglers who will invade often mid game, it's pretty decent assuming they don't want cookies for better early clears/invades.

It's also good for splitpushers such as Fiora, who will commonly start dblade 1 pot, so it would only be 15 health from cookies anyways.

But Assassin is definitely useless on ADC and support, as they'll be together during early game. It is somewhat useless on junglers as they will usually be with laners when ganking. I find only useful when they invade the other jungle, which can be risky as well. If you constantly dealt around 150 damage per attack, you would only deal 3 extra damage with the Assassin mastery, which is definitely too low and unnoticeable. And this mastery only works where there are no allies nearby. For mages who use abilities often that cost mana, the choice is obvious. Secret Stash works a lot better (tho I prefer to take Merciless over Meditation except for support since the damage it gives is decent). For most primary fighter champions, I take Ferocity and Resolve to get more tankiness.

No mana and looks for early all ins. You want all the damage you can get.

Assassin mastery is for assassins.

Even for assassins that deal massive amount of damage, it's still barely noticeable. I can get around 600 AP as Katarina by late game (full build), and that would only increase 12 damage with it. But like I said, during mid and late game, you're with your teammates most of the time.
