Yea because ADCS would explode before they could do anything so what did they do? Lowered the gold on all crit items and buffed their stats.

Can't wait to see the boards once they start three shotting everyone again.

Then again back then the win condition was extremely clear. Flash combo the adc and you win.(or lose because you couldnt kill them through 3 shields)

It's not just that. Everything that could protect the adc has been hurt too. Lowered armor? Check. Lowered magic resistance? Check. More true damage in the game? Check. Low health to start game? Check. Removal of and repeated weakening of enchanter supports (heals and shields) from the botlane? Check. Increased the number of kill-lane supports? Check. Removal of effectiveness of exhaust from season 7? Check. Lowering of heal summoner spell? Check. All those problems from past season are still present with a vengeance....

It's the perfect storm on botlane. And those proposed changes that the devs are thinking of to help the adcs will work well for the other champions (esp bruisers, splitpushers and assassins) - but I fear that they not address the problems facing adcs.

The only reason? The itemization for ADCs is absolutely horrible. You have to pay for a 2800 gold starter item every game item 3095. Not to mention, it's a burst item and doesn't cater to the marksmen dps fantasy at all. Just to be forced into a 6200 gold down time where you barely get any stronger as you buy item 3094 item 3031. All for the reward of doing less damage than you used to do after spending the same amount of gold. Not to mention item 3035 is the least gold efficient component in the game, trust me I did the math, and item 3508 can only be used on 1 ADC that's already OP and doesn't "need" it Lucian.

I didn't even realize it was this bad before I wrote this, but wholly crap it's bad!

Not really.

ADCs were originally picked for two very specific things: Safe tower killing and objective control. Damage came with it, of course, but ADCs could play around any objective/tower and keep pelting it as they saw fit.

Fastforward to today. Mages can now damage towers as well as tanks/bruisers (With demolish) so that avenue is gone. ADCs used to focus more on objective control but today that doesn't matter because there are champs who can chunk better, plus there are champs who obliterate monsters due to monster nerfs and item changes. (Jax guinsoos as an example).

What you're left with is a champion class who only does one thing: Damage. Very few ADCs have earnest-to-shit utility so it comes down to "who does damage the best while also being the safest".

ADCs don't need the game nerfed around them. They need to be reworked from the ground up so they're not the only late game carry class that's viable while giving them more things to do.

You can tell what direction the game is going by comparing old champs like Corki and Gankplank (skill shots and timing) vs the new ones coming out, like Zoe and Pyke... 2 hit killers.

Actually no. This is wrong. Adcs have always been blowed up if positioning was bad. The problem is tanking/ peeling is much harder due to nerfs and item changes, which leaves no one actually protecting the adc as their main job most of the time. As it is near impossible.

Sure you could lower all damage sources in general but it still wouldt solve it unless tanks/ enchantress are actually viable. It would only drag games a bit longer due to shortage of damage to punish mistakes.

Honestly ADCS are only actually on the weak side as tanks and enchanters are bad. Fix those and you will automatically fix adcs.

Riot's concept of an ADC for League of Legends is the basis of the "Damage Creep" problem with the game. Extremely fragile, high damage, auto-attackers all vying over the course of LoL's evolution to outperform each other by dealing more and more damage with fewer attackers. With this mindset for gameplay, the situation began to spiral out.

Assassins were given more burst and easier methods of delivering that burst to deliver that burst. Tanks where given damage to cope with their defensives eventually being overwhelmed by damage. Then Riot/Tencent started stiring shit up, wanting flashier, quicker and more spectacular games. More damage. More True Damage. More % Max HP Damage. More Dashes. More Stuns/Roots/Etc. All as long as it was a flashy spectacle.

If ADCs were more varied rather than just ranged auto-attackers, and those ranged auto-attackers had more variance on their "kill condition" rather than just right-clicking the target to death with only minor gimmicks, then insane damage might have been avoided.

Something has to be done to reduce damage in the game.

Amen. I don't think the solution to AD carries being weak is to buff them. The problem is that they won't live long enough to deal their damage, isn't it? Why invest money on something that you know will end up bankrupt?

The true problem is that you lose the 1v1 against pretty much everyone as an adc so you can;t side lane. You're therefore stuck mid lane where you're going to be underleveled and gold starved making it even easier for that assassin that is currently getting full xp + gold from a side lane to kill you.

A major reason why no one buys lifesteal on adc anymore is you're useless after a fight no matter your health bar if your team is dead. A camille at 20% health can easily 1v1 you whether you're at 10% health or 100% health.

Not really, because everyone gets blown up right now. Burst adcs are doing fine. It's the sustained damage variety that are struggling, mostly because they don't deal enough damage for most of the game.

Every fight this season is pretty much a dps check, favoring front-loaded damage since hp and resistances no longer scale compared to damage. Basically, if your champion can't kill someone in 2-3 seconds alone, or take at least 75% of their health bar in one rotation, they're a weak pick barring supports.
