Riot's big push for patch 8.10 to presumably around 8.12 is designed to reduce the influence of team gold from kills and objectives. But then Pyke gets revealed and it seems like Riot's saying the following:
"We're looking to remove some of the team gold from kills. Anyway here's wonderwall a champ that provides team gold for kills" ~ Riot Games
You expect Riot to stick by what they say?

The point of the character is to be a support that doesn't get flack for "ksing."
The whole game is full of characters that break the normal rules of the game.
gets more minion EXP the more allies are near by, going against the rule of it being lessened for each ally.
gets an ult at level 1
gets 6 points for each ability
has 4 basic abilities
never has to back to shop
get special bonuses for being on the same team
gives away free exp even if his team doesn't farm
exists
