What's the point of Corki?

Zeromatsu·9/12/2018, 6:49:25 PM·54 votes·18,122 views

So Corkis niche is beeing an adc that deals a lot of magic damage...

With Kai'sa out there, why would you pick Corki over her? She does everything better especially dealing magic damage. His second strongest point probably is that he also is some kind of caster adc, but Kai'sas abilities also deal more damage than his.

Corki’s niche is in the basement somewhere.

I think.

Hotarµ9/12/2018, 6:52:37 PM27 votes

Huh. I never even thought about this.

I used to play Corki a while back and even had mastery 5 on him, he was decent. But ever since Kai'sa's release I legitimately have never seen a Corki Mid OR ADC. To be honest, Corki just totally faded from existence with her release. It's pretty sad.

Yordle Xayah9/13/2018, 7:04:09 AM9 votes

It's not Corki. Kai'Sa is just busted, that's all.

Riot should lower Kaisa range back to 500. Accentuate her weaknesses like they did with Lucian

Colton1479/12/2018, 7:01:46 PM6 votes

Corki is mainly a mid laner now due to being too heavily countered in bot.

Corki has the ability to build crit while Kaisa is forced to build on-hit (or a hybrid type build).

Corki is a very mechanically intensive champion.

(A level 7 Corki)

to be honest, why pick any adc other than her? She's right now best in class for burst, tank-busting dps and backline acces(if she has some cc from her mates as setup), spikes hard on the first item already and outscales most from there on. Only her lanening isn't spectacular, but still decent enough.

Why play lucian for threatening the backline then you can pick kaisa and also shred tanks? why play vayne for beeing slippery and shredding tanks when kaisa does the same but with burst, waveclear and a free ticket into the enemy backline? why play kog then kasia does it all and more exept for the range?

She just needs a small rework to focus her either on shreding targets with her dps, or on bursting them with W+Q+passive and R for target acces. But right now she just does all you could want from an adc and more...

As for corkis niche, he has powerfull roams with the package, a strong(and save) lane even in a sololane and spikes really hard on the first item. He also offers solid poke and ranged waveclear with his ult.

Sammystorm9/13/2018, 5:08:01 AM4 votes

Range and poke. Corki has much better range and poke then Kai'sa

DuskDaUmbreon9/12/2018, 7:03:38 PM4 votes

Corki deals a significantly higher percentage of magic damage (over 90% magic damage) than Kai'sa and has better poke and escape than her as well, as well as a potent zoning tool. Kai'sa is more mixed damage (Closer to 50/50, all things considered), takes longer to scale and scales better, and is better at engaging and killing rather than at poking (Although her poke itself is fine, it's nowhere near as good as Corki's, but her all-in is magnitudes stronger).

saltran9/12/2018, 7:46:50 PM3 votes

Corki is a roaming midlaner since his rework, he has nothing to do with Kai'Sa.

His point was to have everyone buy his skins, then get nerfed to oblivion so everyone will have to buy skins for other champions.

Z3Sleeper9/13/2018, 7:29:10 AM2 votes

At some point Varus stole that role as well, with TWO viable magic damage builds (on-hit/AP).

It's no longer his unique niche.

AS I LAY FEEDING9/13/2018, 10:02:53 PM2 votes

Making a hyper carry (vayne) with on-hit+%execute dosent sound balanced in the first place

Edit: Vayne is getting buffs because Kaisa does everything better. The balance team needs to get fired.

excelsheet19/12/2018, 10:43:23 PM2 votes

Corki is thel only viable adc/midlaner

Noor Sakata9/13/2018, 1:07:34 AM2 votes

Idk , but I know 1 thing , that many Masters and Challengers smurfs are using him to smurf in gold and plat and around and it's annoying , I really don't know how weak he is but everytime I see a smurf playing him , he gets fed and 1 shoots everyone , tho a lot of those Corki smurfs I have seen were scripters

PaffWasTaken9/13/2018, 7:06:37 AM2 votes

Back then, his massive advantage was to be able to deal magic damage while building AD items: the AD itemization has always been way over the AP one and back in the day magic damage was harder to prevent. Since he had best of both worlds, this resulted in him getting a really mediocre kit with unimpressive raw damage output by base.

Now that a single MR item is enought to prevent any kind of magic damage whatsoever today, Corki is left with his shitty base kit and is left over for Kaisa that actually has some HP% damage scalings

Stróc Dúnmharú9/14/2018, 4:34:04 AM1 votes

His Niche is his Package, AKA his REAL ultimate... which honestly belongs on an tank, considering its a Rumble ult with CC that forces you to move through the enemy team for maximum damage.

VermillionWolf9/12/2018, 10:20:29 PM1 votes

I mean the simple answer is you don't.

Votable Jester9/13/2018, 7:33:17 AM1 votes

He does have the package, so he can actually provide a bit of cc and roam faster than her with that. Other than that he may have a slight burst advantage?

Unvictus9/13/2018, 12:49:04 PM1 votes

The only thing I can think of is that corki has a little more safety through his W and is better at roaming as a mid laner through his package. Other than that Kai’sa seems better in just about every department.

Corki belongs in a championpool that is 25% of the original champion pool and belongs to Pro play.

TonyTonyMordecai9/13/2018, 8:21:06 PM1 votes

"Kind of like Ezreal sort of" sums up Corki in a way. (Sorry in advance if Corki players are offended, I'm not really an ADC player)

Ulquiorra01239/13/2018, 8:34:18 PM1 votes

His niche was really good until they went overboard and gutted the hell out of him. The reason you would pick him over Kai'sa is that he would do alot more damage than Kai'sa in his decent state. This is the problem though, hes been gutted a few times, hes literally trash now.

Shablagoo9/13/2018, 10:31:11 PM1 votes

Corki is the burst form of kai, Kai can be burst too but it really isnt as bursty as corki. This is also the reason they nerfed him, I think. It takes time for kai to burst but corki's is immediately. Corki really had some insane burst I remember playing him mid and his magic crits showed everyone why magic dmg should never crits.

SugeMinPikk9/13/2018, 10:31:41 PM1 votes

You spelled Ezreal wrong.

Corki plays sort of like a burst mage that builds AD

Although he deals mostly magic damage, he is still incredibly different than Kai' Sa
