Veigar, Q, E, Farm suggestions.

Hello.

As a player that exclusively plays Veigar, I did recognize the issue with his E having no counterplay if you were skilled enough to land it with the edge right upon the champion. The way this issue has been "dealt" with is to put a delay on his e. Fine this gives an opposing champion the ability to react to his e, but leaves veigar in a situation where he is defenseless. If veigar is up vs a high mobility champion, he has no way to react to their mobile play style, e is simply to slow to react to his environments, thus leaving him completely defenseless in case of a gank, or just an assassin going all in on him. That being said, Veigar NEEDS his instant stun just to survive. So the issue is, how do we make Veigar able to stun his opponents reliably in a defensive situation, and how do we allow counterplay when Veigar is on the offense ?

Veigar E If we look at veigars stun as it is now, it is thrown as a complete circle that comes with a delay. The function of the circle as we all know is to capture the opposing champion inside, but as it is now it is more likely that they will simply walk/dash out of it.

Suggestion As a possible solution to Veigars e would be to make it work according to his throwing angle and distance towards himself. If Veigars e has a starting point which is the shortest distance between him and the edge of his e, and expanding to form a circle it would allow him to have greater defensive capabilities and still allowing his enemies to be able to dodge it in offensive situations. Sketch attached.

Veigar Q The new q on veigar compared to the old q has made Veigars laning capabilities far more difficult, as his w us very unreliable, or rather impossible to hit without any cc. Then new function of being a skillshot that stops on the second target is not only reliable, but makes his only harassment almost impossible to hit if the enemy champion is hiding behind enemy minions. Veigars farm is often conducted under the tower as he simply gets pushed back extremely fast if the opposing champion is fast at clearing waves. If the opposing champion places himself strategically behind minions, Veigar simply cannot trade back. If I were to say it in another way, old q should come back simply because it gives Veigar a chance to fend for himself.

Post DFG and Veigar farm. After the removal of DFG Veigars game play hasn't much, I agree to some extent. The problem with post DFG is that the range of targets he can nuke has been diminished. When I used to nuke other champions before there were situations where w r q was enough, and champions with larger amount of health and MR would get and W DFG R Q. As it is now and has been since removal of DFG Veigars nuking capabilities are shut down hard by MR, and I sincerely believe that he needs compensation. His Q allows him to farm AP, which is great, but the silly price of MR is just too much for little Veigar to overcome.

Suggestion. Veigars Q stacks AP but is countered hard by MR, a possible solution is make his farm a hybrid between magic penetration and AP as this would allow Veigar to have a really useful farm, as the situation is now Veigar does not actually need to farm AP to kill APC or ADC as the items are enough. The problem Veigar has is against his more resilient opponents. I hope this post has some useful input or inspiration.

Regards Michael.

So if I understand this right... his E would be like an arcing skillshot. Like Diana's Q but going from both sides and meeting in the middle?

This way he could still inst-stun if needed but it would be limited in range and area. The full effect would still be avoidable. I really like it.

That solution from e sounds much better than what riot did :)

I was playing damn Chogath and could easily walk out of Veigar 's stun animation like it was nothing LOL

I really like this idea. It's great for stunning on the defense but less reliable on offense (except in teamfights, where its delay is somewhat less relevant). Great solution!

This is exactly what I thought they would do with the stun when Riot said they were thinking about changing it so it had some counter play. +1 in hopes Riot sees this.

That's an elegant solution, I like it.

I had this same idea in an earlier post, but you articulated it much better here. I think this is the ideal solution for Veigar; hope Riot sees it.

I say make this a skill shot that travels and hits the first target...

Would fix a lot of the casting weirdness.

I like this, maybe it could stun everyone inside once it completes?

I have seen very similar suggestions and I really like the idea. So much more effective than just sucking a generic delay on the ability

I love this idea, it keeps the defensive self peeling stun while limiting his "I'm going to reach waaaaaay out and stun you out there in an instant" potential. It seems like the best of both worlds, and wouldn't even need a warning particle since you could see the stun cage growing out. Something like instant stun on point of cast but take a whole second for the far side, with half a second for the halfway point.

Your suggestion, if I understand it correctly, will simply turn him yet again into an easy stunner hero followed by a 100-0 nuke. The delay on E being effective in any way is necessary to ensure these Veigar cheese strats cannot be reliable.
