So I am relatively new to this game, but I have played other MOBA games. On downloading, I carrie a game with garen and then with annie. These two champions are the very best for new players. As I level up, I decide to buy a few champions, I listened to some youtube videos and bought chogath and rammus. I didn't like them. So it's really important to choose what you like instead of listening to others.

So I need some help here, I am currently saving 4800 ip, still deciding on champions. I like mages. Some possible choices may be : fizz, ahri, malzahar, brand, leblanc Any suggestions?

Fizz is a good choice maybe not the greatest choice as of right now but he can be played tank top or mage mid your choice, I personally like to build tank Fizz top because he already does insane amounts of DMG anyways and being melee in mid has never been my strong side.

Malzahar and Brand can 100-0 just about anyone but once behind 0-3 they normally stay behind unless you have a TEAM or 1-2 friends to play with to help with those champions ults that are great in teamfights mainly Brand.

Ahri is decent I'v never really played her so idk.

Leblanc is a good champion to get under the enemy teams skins but also your own team as well. Not going to lie each time my team picks LB I instantly get this feeling that they will just feed and be toxic.

6300 - Mid/mages ( Sol - Azir - Ekko - Lissandra - Syndra - Taliyah - Vel'koz - Vlad - Yasuo - Zed

AurelionSol Can be tricky in lane and takes decent amount of skill to play. If I was you I wouldn't buy him yet.. but just play him whenever he is free as it takes time to get use to his kit and I don't want you to waste your RP-IP and play 1 game and decide it was a waste.

Azir Same as Sol he takes time but once you have 1-2 AP-Att speed items he becomes super annoying in lane for the enemy and honestly the best all around team fighting champion depending if your team peels for you that is.

Ekko Same as Fizz he can be played Tank top or mid but again I suggest taking him top to abuse the melee top players.

Lissandra - One of the more fav champions at the moment. Really easy to play her and has a great AOE ult that can 100-0 a whole team, great with TP if you are going to go with a more teamfight style or Ignite if you are wanting a more lane dominate lane.

Syndra Harder than Liss but once you can get 75% decent on her she is second hand to the player. Her ult is a point and click that can shred just about anyone (tank or not they are going down if they are at 60-50% HP)

Taliyah Velkoz are ok but once behind become useless. Between the two I would suggest Vel if you are looking to spam your abilities, also a great champion for his Ult if the enemy team are bunched up together, great champion to play if with friends as the enemy team will also be 4-5 friends and they will make moves together so ulting into 5 enemy players has more of a chance for your team to peel and you to get a PENTA!!!

Zed Yasuo Zed's ult is what I call "mystery death" lets say Zed ults you and you have X amount of health but no one really knows how to calculate Zed's raw ult dmg as well as calculating the items he has. Zed is pretty much a champion you play to be dominate in lane and to pick up early kills once ahead he can win solely alone in solo Q. Hit 6 and if you still have ignite it's an easy kill everytime for you. Yasuo takes some skill believe it or not. Yes he has a 1 sec spam Q and can dash as many times as allowed but pure garbage without a team to set him up outside of lane. I personally would not play him without friends/ team.

Vladimir Is really good if your a new player trying to learn mid. Can sustian for ages and really can't be solo killed unless out of position which you have no reason to be out of position. You Q the enemy the react and run away or get annoyed and they try to do something you as you're really just chilling under tower and CS'ing. They get close to CS you Q them; rinse and repeat.

Thx, I am seriously considering leblanc tho. I have tried Lissandra before i was Lv6. She doesn't feel so good, so I might put off getting her immediately. I have tried Vlad this week, I am not doing especially well. Not sure if these are because I am new or because my play style is just a bit weird. Leblanc feels like she has a huge bunch of outplay potential, what do you think?

Well I'v read some of your other comments and posts and it seems like you just want to 1 shot people so Diana a fight heavy burst mage mainly melee but she has some much potential with how she can chunk people if they get near her.

Gragas believe it or not this guy actually does a ass load of dmg that most players seem to forget. I'v built him full tank with zero-0-ZERO AP and just by doing your full 3 regular combo QEW have chunked players ranking from level 1-5 easily.

Jayce a mix of both isn't AP but AD instead however I think you should play him for his burst and for the outplays.

Kennen poke enemy with Q and just ult and "TOP DIE" lol if you follow LCS or mid for that matter.

Veigar burst ????????

Leblanc The thing about LB RANT off topic! { About 80% of players that see 1 of the players on their team pick LB pretty much think "this player sucks" not that LB sucks but it's in that person's mindset that " Hey all I have to do is pick LB and I'll win" but depending on what elo you're in you will just feed outside of normal games. Just letting you know ahead of time expect salty players and rage in the lobby in ranked before the game has even started if you pick/play LB.

Back to LB on the topic. Yes she can burst players easily but she needs to get ahead during the mid game and once the game reaches the 40 min mark she kinda sucks if you don't get an early lead during the early/mid game. She doesn't do mind blowing damage during that time and most mid champions that are in the "meta" right now can pretty much dunk her easily.

Actually I am not that big a fan of burst as I am of flashy plays. I am looking to learn a champion with flashy and outplay potential. I am willing to spend time to learn. Most of my other champions got boring after 15 games or so.

Ahri has a lot of safety in her kit along with impressive outplay potential. However, she's reliant on her ult in a fight to reposition to get at the carries. Can be easily dealt with CC, has somewhat high mana costs so you won't be spamming abilities as much. She is extremely versatile in any given situation, but struggles against tanks, bruisers, juggernauts or anyone that can get on her in a fight. Moderate skill floor, even higher skill ceiling.

Thank you for your suggestion! I checked the ahri voice over and decided straight away that this is not my style. I am currently looking at the 6300 ip tier mages too, if you have any opinions, i'd be happy to hear them.

I really like playing Taliyah myself and she has a pretty straightforward playstyle. She's about the same skill level as Ahri, but her damage isn't as impressive as it was before. Cannot confidently say much about her as I only have about a dozen games on her. Another fun pick I like is Orianna, but she has a higher skill floor in needing to manage your ball.

Karma is suprisingly strong as a battle mage, like morg, but with more damage. Built full ap her combo will oneshot a squishy. and the heal on her w lets her do a decent bruiser build. Her ulted q is a nuke at lvl 1 even, and throughout the game. Also having your ult at lvl 1 is a decent advantage early. Also in a 1v1 lane situation she is impossible to handle for a decent number of champs, if played right. The heal on your w will let you heal and stay healthy, and with the shield and the stupid damage on q you will win trades against almost everyone except someone who can interrupt you with hard cc and burst you.

Thank you, but I have played karma and I feel that she is not quite my style. I prefer mages with lots of mobility or burst. Currently also looking at 6300 champions, any advice?

velkoz gets useless once behind? that's why they often play velkoz support, ok. that whole post is just a big pile of bs

p.s. of those whom he listed velkoz is easy the best mid laner with the highest statistical winrate. i personally like ahri more though

currently on champion.gg the top winning mids are: zilean 55.1% (he is tricky, better avoid) corki 54.34% (he is tricky, better avoid) ziggs 53.96% (simple and easy except for his bomb jump, he is mostly a poker, very good at killing towers) ahri 53.43% (simple and easy, excels at nothing but good at everything) anivia 53% (she is tricky, better avoid) swain 52.78% (a lane bully, simple and easy but he is a bit weird too) velkoz 52.74% (a bit less simple than ahri but with a better teamfight presence)

So one other important thing is LISTEN TO THE VOICE LINES. I was going to buy malzahar, but I felt that his voidlings creep me out, and decided against it. He would probably get under my skin if I really bought him. I didn't like ahri's either.
