How to deal with players like this?

Every now and then i come across a player, who isnt verbally abusive, doesnt feed. Just is completely counter-productive to helping the team win the game.

An example is this guy i played with he was adc, after laning for about 10 minutes he decided to start taking my jungle, he made an effort to steal all buffs he could, he said he was "just farming" i didnt react but just went to take his farm, at this point he would come back into lane and tell me to go and jungle. He was trying to solo dragon at level 10 as ezreal and the enemy came, took it i was trying to gank top at this point. He would back as soon as a team fight started, try and solo the enemies jungle and die, the stuff he was doing was really weird.

Every time you say something like "dude dont go in there jungle alone they will murder you let us help" he would just say "i was just trying to steal their blue (:"

"ezreal why go back as soon as the fight starts we cant win 4v5 -.-" he would say "sorry guys i wanted to buy an item"

Verbally he was not doing anything toxic, his game play was the most toxic experience ever, our team was winning for the majority of the game however the late game it was practically 4v5 with him on our team. A typical flamer wouldnt bother me, i would just report, but this guy didnt break any rules, he did cooperate when you asked, but as soon as he had helped with an objective or something he would do the most illogical thing, he didnt flame, he didnt afk, he just did everything he could to ruin the game with out breaking any of the code... what do you do with these people? its rare but i still see this behaviour a lot, usually in supports, blitz that use their ult to steal farm, their grab to move blue away from our jungler or that troll bard.

i think riot should make a report feature "counter-productive play" or would this behaviour count as "assisting the enemy team" anyone else get this?

If you feel that the behavior was intentional, report it. Generally, if someone is doing something to set your team behind, they are helping the enemy team get ahead, so I usually go with "Assisting the Enemy Team".

"Unskilled Player"? Think of it this way: Just about any act of repeated, unintentional feeding an sucking counts as "unskilled." It's maybe not report-worthy, though.

Assisting enemy team would be close enough for that guy. Riot isn't too picky about what report option you pick, so long as it's the closest option available.

yeah i guess people flamed him a lot in the game, and said they would report him for assisting enemy team, he would just say "sorry im not as good as you guys" legitimately, if riot received this report, unless they could replay the game and see they would think he did nothing wrong, he had a few kills, unless they made a judgement based on damage dealt, because it was half as much as me and i was ammumu jungle

Its true he should be reported for unskilled player, however i know he was trolling because i could tell, he knew how to play he chose to act like this was his first game ever.
