Why Am I Constantly Playing Against People In Plat/Diamond

I AM IN SILVER 5. SILVER. 5. And over the course of the past few months, I've been noticing that I've been in queue with people in Gold (which is fine), Plat, and Diamond. Given they're sometimes on my team as well, more often than not I play against what appears to be people that are premade of groups of 3+ because of the type of coordination they have. Maybe it's just their experience that kicks in so I may be wrong there, but the quality of my games have been horrendous of my end. I cannot perform to their level because the Plats are 2 tiers ahead of me, and of course the Diamonds are 3. So I'm constantly flamed from my own team and flamed from the enemy team. Riot, I've no idea what's going on but fix this! I hate playing because of it!

Ye, I'm constantly playing diamonds in normals who keep playing their mains against me...

Based on your match history you're only playing in normals. A person's MMR in normal is calculated completely differently from their ranked one so that high rank players who use normals to try out new champs and different builds or just have a less stressful game can do so. Also normals would allow for example, a bronze player to be paired with a diamond player resulting in the average MMR being close to yours.

This is an often asked question and the answer is quite simple: Your ranked MMR does not match your Normal MMR.

This means you could be Wood 6, and still have high Silver/Gold MMR in Normals, and given that most people in high elo rarely play Normals, the probably have a MMR similar to yours.

I wouldn't see it as such a bad thing. I remember when I was still in Silver or Bronze, how I wished I could play with Gold+. You can learn from them. Why not see it as a positive thing?

You've played all of 20 ranked games this season. Your MMR isn't even normalized yet and quite frankly based on your record you actually belong at a higher level ranked play. You're actually probably more along the lines of a gold level player and if you'd just play ranked matches the game is going to help you get there by making you lose less IP than you gain.

Time to put the big boy pants on.

I would just play ranked games if you want to play against players of comparable skill.

I was under the impression that the MMRs for each are difference AND that normals is more random.

I played against a Master tier player in a normal game a couple weeks ago.
