Question on how to change summoner icon to none

I know you can do it at level 1 or so, but after you unlock your champ your defaulted to that champs icon. anybody know how?

I read something on Reddit and I believe you can cancel the champion selection and then play as normal. I think the player has to do it everytime they login.
