Diana Rework Concept; Desighned by JustMyBassCannon and ItsStout
We ALL know Diana is in need of a gameplay update. While initially designed as a bruiser with stickiness, mobility, and a godlike initiation, she became an assasin who has all those same things. She isn't healthy, fun to play, or really unique. As an assasin, she became Akali 2.0 with an even more binary kit. As a bruiser, she fell flat due to her nerfs.
The first goal of Diana's rework was to give her an identity. Currently, Diana is mainly an Akaili-Esque assasin. Our goal was to create a fighter with distinct strengths and weaknesses while preserving Diana's feel as a moon-mage. We did this by moving around kit power and reducing gameplay we saw as unhealthy (Q R R). We also introduced an interesting idea- just like how Lux Light binding and Morgana's dark binding mirror each other, so do Diana's and Leona's kits. We feel that this is an interesting and compelling design. Anyway. On to the kit.
Diana's mobility has been moved to Q, now functioning as a mix between Lee Sin's Q and Leona's E. Her W Pale Cascade now only hits your main target, allowing for overall better damage on the ability. Diana's E has been changed to a passive steroid. Finally, her ultimate functions as a huge teamfight interruption.
ABILITIES
Moonlight
Diana's Crescent Slash and Moonsilver Blade apply moonlight to enemies hit for 2 seconds and reveal them for 2 seconds. Diana's basic attacks against targets with moonlight deal bonus magic damage equal to X * Level (+ X% AP). Moonlight will not dissipate on a unit if Diana persists in attacking that unit.
Crescent Slash
Active: Diana sends out a burst if magical energy in a crescent, dealing X (+X% AP) magic damage to all units hit and applying moonlight.
Active: Diana can reactivate this ability to dash to an enemy marked by Moonlight, dealing X (+X% AP) magic damage.
Pale Cascade
Active: Diana shields hersef for X (+X% AP) damage and creates three spheres that orbit around her. These spheres detonate when they hit an enemy marked by moonlight, dealing X (+ X% AP) magic damage and increasing Diana's shield.
Moonsilver Blade
Passive: Diana gains X% attack speed while attacking a target with moonlight. Active: Diana modifies her next basic attack to mark her target with moonlight and deal bonus magic damage in an AOE around her target.
Eclipse
Diana summons the power of the moon, rooting and dealing X (+ X% AP) magic damage her primary target . In addition, she pushes back all enemy units a fixed distance, slowing them based on the distance between them and Diana.
