I won 7 and lost 3, but sadly I went from silver 2 down to silver 5....the look on my face was like opening up a present on Christmas and it being a hunk of shit.
Anyone got a link or know how the placement is decided? I thought I would do better since I won 7 out of 10, but what other things get taken into account?
The maximum rank you can be placed into is Platinum 1 meaning everyone above is shifted down from the previous season, including Challenger players. It makes sense that everyone else that is below Platinum 1 is also shifted down and the climb is real in a literal sense. For example, I was Platinum 3 last season and I'll probably be seeded somewhere into Gold or Silver because the system wants me to climb rather than continue from where I left off.
Everyone is complaining because they don't want their progress to be reversed. This system makes sense because two equally skilled players for example can't end up being placed in Challenger and the other in Masters because this will have a big impact for the rest of the season.
I am smart enough to wait until the trolls and pros have moved into their rank placements before walking into that cluster f
I quit and moved on to smite, gave account to my friend to test new builds on since it has most champs.
I went 4-6, placed Plat IV (Was Plat 2 0 LP just before season start). Much higher than I expected. People's experiences differ so much maybe because it's based on their MMR, not on their previous tier/division, so they can't judge where they're at.
I ended the preseason in silver 5, which really isnt that good. I was placed in S3 after going like 4-6 in my placement games, got to 99 lp twice, but ended up getting demoted twice from there. Season 5 came around and i thought i did very well in my placement games, going 7-3 which is an improvement from my last placement games. I was very excited because i had done well in most of the games too, but after the tenth game, which we ended up winning, I was shocked and upset to end up in Bronze 3. Im just upset because i fell that i have improved as a player, but i am rewarded with a low seed. Season 5 is my first ranked season, but ending up in bronze 3 after improving is just really upsetting.

Considering I lost like 9 and won 1, I went from Plat 5 to Silver 4.
Not really surprised. I really despise the fact that I have to carry people who suck yet all over again just to advance myself, but it is what it is.
I'm already 99 LP Silver 1, so it's not like it'll take me too long to bounce back.

Congrats, looking at your history and going off MMR you actually moved yourself up. You legitimately improved your MMR position from the end of last season, you're simply placed more appropriately now. You should be celebrating your performance.

Helped a friend seed. Haven't finished my placement games but they went 5 win 5 losses and got... Bronze 5.

Dissapointed? Yes, angry? Nope. People seem to think end of s4 is where they are going to be judged... nope i ended s4 in B2 climbed during pre season to s4 got put back in b2 everyone Lost placement except some rare people who went 10-0 with qn extremely high mmr vs rank i went 6-4. Seeing diamond getting placed in silver makes me happy I'm not B5 plus the climb out wasnt extreme like everyone makes it seem i literally carried my team in placements most of the time especially as sej
