It's so annoying when you are running from someone (i.e Katarina O_o) through your minions so they attack the other person, but then you shield/speedboost a minion instead of you.

I've shielded minions before (and healed them with Soraka) on accident. There's an option in the game settings to only target champions with abilities.
Otherwise, no. I have too much fun denying cs.

i voted no, because the ability to shield a minion is good for taking a tower, shield the cannon and buy time to finish the tower before the wave dies.
You can also always put up a hotkey, I use T for selfcasting E on Karma, Lulu, Morg.. Karma's E on minions can actually be useful, for example if you want to take down a tower you can speed boost the first minion of your wave so you don't have to wait as long for the tower aggro to proc.
No, cause I like using my shield to deny them big minions :D
Isn't there a key to only cast on champions?
I use the shield on minions to move th e most forward minion more quickly to the tower, or minions that are under fire to be protected So I can keep hitting a low health tower. Also, you can use it to screw up someone's last hittng, particularly when they have a bonus for killing a minion with an ability (like Annie's Q).
So no, I don't think that is a good idea. I believe there is an option in the menu to make it so support abilities only affect champions, just turn that on.

Hold alt and then E in order to use the spell on yourself. As for allies, you can either click their portraits on the left (useful for teamfights especially), or hotkey the "target champions only" function for quicker, accessible casting. I recommend spacebar, especially if you used locked camera.
There is a key that makes abilities only target champions.
There is a key for self-casting spells.
Use them.

If you hold shift (maybe ctrl, i changed my bindings) while casting you self cast. It is a useful trick for situations like this. You can also hold ~ (I think, again changed my bindings) to only cast on champions. Scroll through the key binding and see what other useful tricks you can find. As far as karma goes I like the flexability that being able to cast on minnions provides.
