Reminiscing about old Xerath
Xerath
used to be my all time favorite champion having the ability to turn into a stationary turret at will and burst the enemies from afar. His kit had some feel of uniformity in that his W would give him that beautiful unmatched range of all his spells; his E wasn't just a random orb he chucked out, it attempted to sync with his kit with rewarding the stun if you managed to land another spell in quick succession. The current form he is in, while of course functional (but let's be honest, viability doesn't mean good, it just means they decided to give him good base damage and scaling, it says NOTHING about quality champion design), is simply never going to give the exhilarating feeling I, and others who had never had the opportunity to try him, would have felt. He was a turn off because of his reliance on skillshots or something, I'm not really sure, but he was very powerful and LOOOADS and loads of fun. I have given this new Xerath a try and I end up getting very tired and bored of just being this awkward former arcane master floating around with his goofy looking spells. This brings me to my next point, how on Earth did anybody at the Riot honestly believe that the revamped textures and particles of his spells looked better? The are incredibly unsatisfying. Take a moment to look at some old Xerath footage and tell me that it doesn't look far more exciting to play than the current garbage....
